What I don't love is the Saints extreme mediocrity. I changed it up at the start of the year to go strong on defense up the middle and no joy....

I have a couple of dumb questions since I Know nothing about the market anymore. How much for a 62 Mays or a 62 Marichal or Koufax? Are they in mint condition? When you say really nice Snider did you mean the condition of the card or the look? I promise I will leave you alone after this. Just so curious since I would have all of them when I was a kid. Most of them in my spokes. I was never to bright and nothing has changed. 😰

Yes, I did that one season also because of the fine pitchers I had. (I thought) But a third of the way through I had to go back and rethink because I sucked big time. 👎

I love talking about baseball cards, I just don't want to bore the hell out of the other guys....although as ball fans you'd think they'd eat it up.

So Snider was in mint condition. I paid $90 for about 40 cards including Snider. Marichal was in pretty good shape also as part of the $90. For 1962 Lou Brock's rookie card is a bit pricey and so is Mantle, like every other year. I can get Brock for $35 a bit hacked up. You can get Sandy for about 20 bucks a bit hacked up.....The Say Hey kid is about $30 too.

I have some old BB cards that I haven't checked out for awhile so I am going thru them and I am going to join Zistle. When I was a kid in the 60's I had the entire 1965 Topps set....damn I basically gave them away several years ago!!

Some of my cards are graded and some aren't.

I am on the list for P412 and hope to get on for this weekend!

I am really looking forward to OOTP20!

On paper he does not seem to be worth a diamond but like I said I do not get to see him play and he is playing for some winners so maybe he is one of those big hit time cards like Guerrero is when the game is on the line and the box score does not tell the tale? 🤷*♂️

The HR power and eye make it a pretty easy call for me if I have them both. The points don't really matter to me (my whole collection is only worth 50). I don't watch my games but I figure what they did yesterday has no bearing on what they will do tomorrow anyway.

Cool! Yea, I have the entire 1965 set now.....it wasn't too hard to get as there are no ultra expensive cards but isn't that a cool set?

Yea, 20 should be alot of fun for all of us...

edit: Zistle is awesome but it does seem to be abandoned by Becket who sued the husband and wife team out of business and bought it up. They are definately not maintaining it but it's fantastic for tracking ones collection.

Wow, How many sets you got? I guess you are going after the 62 set now because that was what you bought last week also.

I have 1968-1989 complete as far as Topps regular cards are concerned. I also have 1965, 1959 and 1953 complete.

I still could study the upcoming series and make up my 7 game lineup against them and turn my attention to my 20 team and watch the new players that come into the game to see how they perform. How many of you will stay in 19 for the next year along with 20? Just curious....
For myself it is full speed ahead for 20 but will check on 19 from time to time. I expect with all the new bells and whistles on 20, it won't take long for most folks to migrate to the Gucci version.

I got a bundle from friends when I got hurt a couple weeks ago. I think they thought I was worse off then I was so my friend who owned the bar took a collection so I will have about $2300 of that money to start off my team which is actually way more then I paid for my whole team in 19 but in the 20 edition we will need a lot more money because people now know how much some players are worth so I anticipate I might have to add or double that amount to get the team I want with what I heard about the new game. In 19 we could pick up players like Cobb and Ruth cheap early but now people know what stars are worth ,Hence the $800 dollar price for the Perfect Pedro. Most of my starters except Gooden I got for under 20,000 months ago and now they all go in the high 80,000 -300000. We will not see that again in 20 I do not think. People know the price of good pitching and in a lot of cases over charge so I expect to really have to shop hard this time around unlike the early 19 where there was so many cheap stars to grab. 😁

My Brett is fairly new (I flipped a consistent under-performing Rolen Diamond for a Perfect Bonds and Eck) but this season is his best with me by far with his first AS nod and among all 3B leaders in a few categories
: HRs (2nd), RBIs (4th) SLG (1st), OPS (2nd), WAR (2nd). Anyone can have a lucky year though. My sample size is too small to compare if Brett is a consistent performer or not. Consistency is the most valuable trait. For the Breakers, Cy Seymour wins that category hands down.

Just because Huggins is interesting. I got at the same time Cy Seymour, Clyde Milan, Hal Chase, Red Ruffing and Joe Cronin.

Thank you my friend for the kind words and as far as the investment goes I have a feeling the cards will be sky high at first (The ones we would want to play with or experiment with.) and the money which was kind of a backward gift might be better off spent later down the road. But I change with the wind so who knows. Lol. I will always have a fond memory of you my friend and we will x swords again. We have had some great battles in seasons past. In fact we still have some business this season to clear up. 😁

You are a winner my friend and I never argue with a winner. I listen. I was just curious because Dog brought it up about a friend and I noticed you had him also and wondered if he was something special I have missed in this league because he is a three just Like the big guns. It is funny how one thinks now. I was going to,leave the league a couple of weeks ago to try and go back and practice the anything goes Mode. I have been so indoctrinated with this Orcin league of counting points like a weight watchers diet that In a reg league you do not have to weigh that anymore. Now, I not only look at the players attributes and price but also the point system of Orcins league before keeping or getting a player. If was so easy before, Just like him, Get him, Watch him play and then decide if he will help or not. Now I have to make comprises on players I would never keep if the cap was off. It will take awhile to lose that mindset in 20. It was a fun league having that hassle also in existence. It might take a while to break that habit of thinking.😨
