I can go with that as well, as long as the money isn't completely lopsided. But you're talking to a guy who can't (won't) even buy any of the 40-60K pitchers so for me it's different. Luck doesn't really help my Len Barker beat a Kevin Brown that often. It may happen 30% of the time, but that's not very good.

Luck could manifest itself as pulling a perfect Pedro.....

Yes of course. I'd actually include that and use a different word than money. Like total PP value of your team. That includes both money spent and lucky pulls.

There is some skill needed to succeed. I've definitely seen more than a couple whale teams with a lot of expensive cards that were set up terribly and failed as a result.

However, once you pass the threshold of "I have a basic understanding of how baseball works" then yes it becomes about money and luck.

Failed in bronze level? Failed in the Perfect playoffs? If the latter, I don’t call that failure.

I was referring more to the teams I passed on the way up in the lower levels. Teams that had clearly spent much more than myself on cards, but didn't tie them together with any type of coherent strategy.

Definitely agree with you about perfect level. Making the playoffs is the accomplishment in itself IMO. The playoffs themselves are mostly luck.

I also am having second thoughts on just ditching 19 and going totally to 20. I might try both for awhile. I would not be able to watch both teams but The Rocky Point team I have come to know the players and Their streaks and strengths so they would not take up the most time. I still could study the upcoming series and make up my 7 game lineup against them and turn my attention to my 20 team and watch the new players that come into the game to see how they perform. How many of you will stay in 19 for the next year along with 20? Just curious....

The amount of attention you give your team might make it tough to do both for sure.

Yea, but I mostly let it fly and make changes once or twice a week.....so for me it won't be too hard. I may stop checking in every day.

I think I'll probably convert to OOTP20, and leave it at that. Seems like a bummer to "waste" all the PP and players I've accrued in 19, but what are you gonna do. Starting over will be more fun, and likely will try FTP, rather than jumping in with a few fists full of cash right away like I did this time.

Yeah, Leaving some of my players would be pretty hard so I think I will at least stay the rest of the year with both. I will be spending all my cash on 20 and not on 19 but my team is pretty solid as it is in 19 so I can use all my resources for 20 all year long. I got a bundle from friends when I got hurt a couple weeks ago. I think they thought I was worse off then I was so my friend who owned the bar took a collection so I will have about $2300 of that money to start off my team which is actually way more then I paid for my whole team in 19 but in the 20 edition we will need a lot more money because people now know how much some players are worth so I anticipate I might have to add or double that amount to get the team I want with what I heard about the new game. In 19 we could pick up players like Cobb and Ruth cheap early but now people know what stars are worth ,Hence the $800 dollar price for the Perfect Pedro. Most of my starters except Gooden I got for under 20,000 months ago and now they all go in the high 80,000 -300000. We will not see that again in 20 I do not think. People know the price of good pitching and in a lot of cases over charge so I expect to really have to shop hard this time around unlike the early 19 where there was so many cheap stars to grab. 😁

$2300 should get you off to a flying start........I think I'll play bad guys for a week to ensure you move up and away from me.......

Why is that good? Am I missing something about that card? George Kell to me is better and he is a silver card while Brett is a diamond. When I look at the ones in our league it even looks like he does not hit righties even that well for a platoon. Does he play better then he looks on paper?
