Yup. And someone will buy him so the prices will never come down again. Also as we see in 19 any first rate Pitcher goes in the high 500,000 ratios. Now if I want to compete like the Zorro in 19 it will cost me probably around 4,000 Dollars to do so. I guess I could always look for a Orcin type league but would not get to play with any great pitchers unless I paid dearly for them. This is very good for OOTP and I am happy for Markus because all those years have now paid off but I truly feel sorry for people who have no money because we now see the greed we all have on selling players. Players I use to get for 20,000 are all now over 100,000. Lol. The 99 Ruth you could buy for 60,000 I saw selling for 450,000. It will only get worse in 20.

I think the play at launch of 20 is to just rip open packs like you're searching for a Willy Wonka golden ticket. All cards will go for inflated amounts at the beginning, so just sell anything you can and rip more packs till you hit the jackpot. Make your team out of the gold's and silvers you pack along the way, then wait for prices to come down on the bottom of the first tier and second tier.

Wow, I just noticed Babe Ruth and Mookie Betts on my team have both put up exactly 0.0 WAR so far. What are the odds of that??

I have to admire people like joehart who can assemble winning teams out of baling wire and chewing gum. They certainly know a lot more about this game than I do. |

I suspect this will be the route to go. |

The one thing that always seems to run true is that the game is based on 162 games. The Pirates are a .500 team so they may get ahead now but when it is all set and done, they will get outplayed by all the awesome batters and pitchers in the league.
So far it happened year after year. I wish I had a Ruth/Seymour/Cobb outfield. I think it is the one I would love to own.

Everyone talks about rushing to 20 but I am not sure my experience will be any different.
I may get lucky and pull a few amazing cards but I will never pull all the amazing cards and build a superwhale so I will essentially end up with something similar to what I have now. I think my biggest joy will be building a team at the lower levels and using cards that I have not used before. I was disappointed that the power creep came so quickly and we ended up against teams with just the top cards. I fear it will happen again and be even faster since we all know what we are doing. I suspect getting promoted to a competition against superwhales will be a matter of just a few weeks. So maybe I will continue with the teams I have in 19 and enjoy the investment but focus on areas that we can’t have today (a league with bronze cards/silver cards/other). Maybe it is just me but I find it sad that we use just a tiny fraction of the thousands of cards. I enjoy watching a guy like Jamie Moyer and hope I can find more people that are willing to utilize other areas of the game instead of just looking for the top50 cards and mixing and matching them. Hopefully 20 can address that part of the game for me.

yeah, I don't anticipate watching some uber-card emerge from a pack in v20 (only had one perfect card pull for any of my teams so far in v19)... so I'll just chug along in v20 like I have been here. if I do anything different, I might try to use more of those iron/bronze cards at the start for a little fun (and it wouldn't be a terrible thing to *not* get promoted immediately with the tsunami of teams to fill upper leagues)... it'll be a long, long run with a full year to play (almost 50 years of game time), so going to take my time and enjoy the journey.... |

These streaks are funny. I replace Cobb and Ruth with a Bronze card and a silver card and we have won 4 out of 5 since I did this. I wanted to see how run production would do. I lead the leaGue in runs scored when I took them out and now for the last five games I have average 7.2 runs a game. Even better is I did this to shore up defence and we have made 1 error in 5 games and guess who made it. Of course it was Ozzie Smith my SS. Lol. Got to love this stuff. Go figure. 😁

Exactly my fear. If we get bored and stale after 10-15 seasons in 19, we will be bored at the same rate in 20. I can’t wait to see the PT league improvements and areas that will help keep the average spenders interested for 12 month.

I would love to be in a position to juggle the top 50 cards in the game for a while.

What is the play if you pull a perfect Pedro? Play him or sell him and buy an entire team. I don’t see his price ever being affordable.

There is always one park a season I hate going to. The Howlers own it this season. Thank goodness they are not in my Division.(Bad enough they are in my Conference) I always set my lineup accordingly to the stadium I go to (If it is a drastic stadium.) I simply do not have the left handed bats needed to play here. The good news is he does not either. I am not sure if he forgot how he made his stadium or if there is A reason I do not see on why he has it set like this. Either way I never enjoy playing in a Stadium I have no control or advantage over. Lol. 😉

the smart money if you got him early would be to sell him and build a team that would compete every season.... however, for me personally I would keep him. Hes the dream for me though ... the unicorn .. the white whale .. however you want to say it.... and the only way ill ever see him is if I pull him. So, if i get him im gonna keep him!! even if that means the rest of my team is bronze ... 1 out of 5 games hell make my team look like a perfect one |

I have to agree with the prevailing sentiment. Unless other cards are adjusted up, there's no comp for perfect Pedro, so he might be one I'd hold.
