Yep, of course. As well as park factors, BABIP, and a million other things. Which is why the correlation is quite low. But generally I would expect that as the sample size increases, it will grow stronger, as those things even out.

So the question is, how much does a catcher ability improve pitching and how do you measure it? These catchers cannot hit. If they bat 250 you are lucky. But what stat show catchers ability affect?
