2B Gehringer 86 gold goes for 5-6k usually. Used him in a platoon on 2b, hit around .300 with a good amount of doubles each year in perfect, but that's dependent on ballpark factors somewhat. His defense is a little deficient but not terrible.

If you have the patience to train him at 1B, Joe Torre (primary position 3B, not C) is a great option around 8-9K

I've run Doolittle and Smith as lefty relievers through several perfect seasons and usually they do well.
Maybe not under 10k, haven't checked in a while, but the Ivan Rodriguez 1999 AllStar is one of the better catchers in the game. And JD Martinez tends to be on/off at Perfect, but still hard to find a better DH on a budget and they're readily available at the AH. Javier Baez is a balanced player you can run up to Perfect as well. Don Mattingly (1986) can post up good averages in Perfect. Maybe not an A-rated fielder but there's also way worse being played at PL. |

I have an 80 Frank Thomas that is OPS'ing over .900 as a platoon 1B in perfect. You can get him for 2500. Granted, there's not a lot of use for the short end of a platoon that has no defensive value, but if you have a roster spot and could use a decent PH option, I like it. Of course I also have JDM as my DH, so it's a second option.
