if the sim engine is expecting to kick out a certain number of hits/doubles/triples/hrs/etc, and a league batting average of, say, .260; then even if you have an entire league of nothing but Ty Cobb in every batters slot, they can't *all* hit .400... for every Cobb that hits .400, there has to be an offsetting number of Cobb that only hits .125 to make the league average around .260
so when we start getting leagues that are packed with superstar laden teams, someone is going to have to under perform... just sucks when it's your guy(s)....
course I could be completely off base (someone feel free to correct me if that's the case)... either way, still enjoying the roller coaster ride with my struggling teams

No you are right, the stat engine is responsible for pushing out a certain amount of 2Bs, 3Bs, HRs, etc. What seems to be skewed is pushing the lion's share of the numbers to just a few teams/players. You can have a handful of .400 hitting Cobbs but what if you get a dozen .200 hitting Tony Gwynns. Those .400 hitting Cobbs could also cause 4.50 ERA Koufaxs. It seems to be a statistical fallacy and I'm not sure how they can correct it. I have my Silver League Altuve at 89 overall hitting .219, he would never hit that low IRL then in Bronze League I have a 75 overall Mike Clevinger who is now 15-1 with a 2.62 ERA. Maybe they need to tier the leagues and teams more?
