Now that I have played both you and the Dragons, I don't have to stress out over the match-ups for awhile.

I looked over my schedule for the month and it didn't look too bad. I should do okay.

Ha.... now watch me come home and I'll be 4-19 for the month up until then.

Catcher is the one position where my player requirements don't necessarily apply.

All I want is elite catcher ability. It's not too important if they can't hit their way out of a paper bag or run like a slug. Anything they can contribute above hitting like a pitcher I consider a bonus.

Their only real job is to make pitchers look good... and try to throw out the occasional base stealer.

Unfortunately, I'm not making much PP this season. I have earned only 780 so far (after 37 Gs). So I've not been able to do a single upgrade since the season started so I'm not sure my team will continue to play decently.

Edit: Hmm... Looking at your division, it looks like you might be able to win it. No super-teams in your division to contend with.

My bullpen save my ass with 10-3 in close game. Crazy I win 2 games against Catalina Bisons...my club play over is head since the start of the second season.

I cross my fingers each time I play the big guns of the conference.

While that's true, I do like avoiding a true black hole in the lineup there, since I think being able to turn the lineup over does help. Plus I got annoyed when I had Grandal back there that I could basically never get the achievement for having everyone in the lineup getting a hit.

But the problem is that there aren't a lot of guys with good to great D and who have a bat worth playing, at least not that cost less than about 7k on the market.

Heh... Grandal. You sound like every Dodger fan I heard on talk radio last World Series.

But you're right. Good fielding catchers who can hit come at a steep premium.

Man, I spent most of my last season third in my division and having the third best record in the league. This time it seems like it'll be more competitive overall, more balanced! Only interesting thing that really happened for me last season was Matt Chapman getting a 12-game RBI streak at one point. It was nice to log in when I got home and find an extra 3k in my bank!

Also, chazzycat, if you're here, thank you for beating F2P in the World Series in that last division! ;D ...and Descent if you're here, thanks for beating Lynnwood LOL those guys were brutal!

Any recommendations for a catcher to pick up? I'm thinkin' about Buster Posey since I'm pretty good on power.

You guys usually buy the gold packs or regular? I'm in a bronze league at the moment and doing solid with my 3 gold players and 2 or 3 silvers lol. I see some of the teams and I know I'm gonna get crushed. I'm not getting much PP quickly I'm only back up to 2200 right now. Last time I had 6000 I ended up just buying 6 packs and ended up with a gold Patrick Corbin. I bought a gold pack once and got a gold Future Stars or Aces or whatever Brent Honeywell. I'm just curious which way y'all have better luck, with gold packs but not being able to buy as many of regular packs but no guarantee of anything above bronze.

I'm at work so I really can't check now but Posey's pretty good if I recall correctly. Has a pretty good Catcher Ability and good contact.

I had him on my other team in beta. He did fine.

Both teams are on losing streaks, 8 and 9 games.
Bears were up against an all diamond team and got swept

Minutemen are still out in left field

LOL that's no problem! I had to play 6 games against Lynnwood and 4 games against F2P in a row last season and had a 10 game losing streak because of it so I know how it feels haha

I want you to hit the world series and take down the titans on the other side in this league

My 5 gold, 6 silver pitching staff is doing a great job so far. But my next 3 games are against the team with the #1 offense. There are some real brutal teams in this league. My team is 24-17, but we're 0-9 against the super-teams. So we'd be 24-8 if it weren't for those teams. [By the way, I'm not complaining about the existence of super-teams.]

On his computer.

p.s. - I assume you already know this, but that's not a screen from the game.

After about 45 games my entire team is still in a season long slump. JD Martinez is my only hitter in the line up performing close to what I would expect. No one else has an OPS over .750. 3 of my starters have an ERA near or above 5. I even bolstered center field and shortstop defense but they are getting absolutely shelled. I have 2 Diamond pitchers and 2 Golds, it's not like they're scrubs. Ironically, my ace has been Lance Lynn.

I typically have a lot of patience for cold spells, but an entire team vastly underperforming for almost 50 straight games is really frustrating.

Yes, I was. Your iron men are doing extremely well. I'm very impressed. For the record, it's about 5 diamonds, a silver, two bronze, and the rest are gold.

P.S. Oops, I posted this under the wrong user name. This is PhysicsTeacher, and I manage the Florida Phoenix.

Awesome, it's always more interesting when you know someone else in the league. We've got another series coming up next month that I'm looking forward to! I've also been surprised at how well we are doing. At least offensively, we look good (and I just improved a little). I've not been able to find many decent SP options in iron cards.

Have the devs stated how many of each card type there are? I'm well over 700 now, but I'm guessing that there are many more.
