Has anyone had any luck with batters that have low Eye?

It depends on the player. Altuve is low Eye for my liking but he has a high enough Contact to offset it somewhat. Rod Carew gold cards have 90ish Contact that helps them. There are other players similar. Low Contact with high strikeout cards are the true nightmare. I do not play those players I listed because they score low in my personal scoring equation.

It always depends on what you are trying to do and how that player fits your managerial plan.

I've seen the same player next to himself in stats before, but never 3 times in a row. Also of note, Ross Stripling is apparently super elite (if he had an actual Starter's stamina, instead of 39, he'd actually have pretty decent ratings).

I started Stripling all last season on my Catch 'Em All team and he did pretty well for himself.

Right now, it's my batters with high eye that are all struggling

Also, here's how to win when your World Series winning pitching staff has decided to crap the bed to start the season. Second best record in the league, even with garbage pitching, thanks to April Player of the Month Monte Irvin (a 1952 Silver player outplaying his ratings and overcoming his apparent lack of legs).

Chris Sale has a 4.95 ERA, Patrick Corbin is 5.19, and the rest of my starters are in the high 3's. My brand new closer, Will Smith, has a 8.68, and old closer Ottavino has a 3.72.

Should be able to phase them out as the seasons go on, but to me it's not 100% necessary to have all the cards be Red Sox versions.

...Besides, I really like Adrian Beltre.

Lol yup, I'll count them (Johnson actually did pitch for the Expos). I decided to count them when I saw a Lee up for auction recently. If you can actually get them all, then it actually gives them a pretty damn awesome rotation - Johnson, Pedro, Lee at the top, and probably Langston and Dennis Martinez rounding it out. And the offense should be able to hold its own in a regular league with Carter/Rose/Vidro/Lansing/Alou/Grissom/Walker/Vlad/Staub. SS is a bit weak - I guess we count Maury Wills there, but he's probably the weakest position in the bunch. Bullpen might be a bit thin, too, but can fill it out with role players. Just a question of finding those starters, as they don't come cheap.

Anyone else seeing the trend of top tier teams using elite defensive catchers? Top team in my league is mostly perfects and high diamonds, but I noticed he is running a silver Charles Johnson. Looked at the auction house, and elite defensive catchers and going for quite the premium.

Next serie of card we need Orlando Cabrera at SS and Vazquez or Hill at pitching:P Spike Owen not so bad defensively at SS for now.

Bullpen Wetteland is good and we need Rojas in the future serie...you have Lee Smith too.

Lansing have is card in this collection of card?

Though I don't know for sure, I believe that general consensus is that catcher ability directly affects the performance of your pitching staff.

Though it's a small sample size, I will say that I have definitely seen an improvement in my staffs when going from a catcher with a CA of 75 (which is still good) to one of over 100.

Someone from OOTPD mentioned that pitch framing is included within Catcher Ability. Getting even 5% more strike calls could make a ton of difference in pitching performance.

EDIT: It was Markus in a thread about Grandal vs. Ramos at catcher: "The catcher ability rating does indeed include pitch framing skills. So, the higher the better your pitchers will perform."

That would make a huge difference. I was thinking it was because of so many fast and trying to cut down on steals, but pitch framing makes a lot more sense. I'll look at this closer tonight. Thanks.

There's a Jason Varitek (115 Catcher Position, 103 Catcher Ability) and Ray Fosse (125 CP, 106 CA) with auctions ending in the next hour, but the prices are super high. Oh, and Pudge ending later today (130 CP, 106 CA).

Will the Kallisti Discordians please pack your bags and move to the other conference? Thank you for your cooperation.

Last season, the team with the best record in the league (and championship winner) was in my division, now it's these guys. They're 28-4 at the moment and we're 18-15, 0-5 vs them (though all but one G was very close). Why me?!

Not good. Just lost 2 of 3 against the worst team in the league

Cleon Jones was one of my two favorite players growing up. I remember him from the '69 Mets World Series. The other was Bud Harrelson, also a member of that team.

The reason I liked them? I thought they had cool names.

Hey... I was 10.
