That's not fun.
It was not fun to beat him twice? Next time aim for thrice. No team is unbeatable. This is baseball.

Then wait a week and he'll be in a different league. Or don't play. They aren't going to change the game so that you personally can win every season.

Try this team lineup in Silver: Trout-Cobb-Honus Wagner-Gehrig-Brett-Hornsby-Bonds-Betts-Bench. SPs are: Pedro Martinez-Randy Johnson-Seaver-Walter Johnson-Chris Sale.

How long would you have to grind and make money selling cards to match this team? How enjoyable will it be to compete against them for very long and be constantly slaughtered? There are even better teams than this. A few people may want to do it but I see it as the Achilles heel of the game.

I would like to see separate leagues for those who spend actual money to buy points/packs and those who don't. Of course, that doesn't help OOTP monetize the game so it's not likely to happen. Those who don't spend money will gradually lose interest as they have no chance and will fade away.

You will see separate leagues, when they get promoted to the perfect league and you're not that high up. Give it 2 or 3 more weeks and then every team in your league should have similar talent levels.

I didnt find a disagreement with me on your posts. You just dont care about the ptw aspect of the game, and is fine, i would play the game anyway too, ptw or not.

You are absolutely correct but they don't care. This PT can be so much fun if they didn't have the PTW, but money talks. I have been supporting OOTP since the very first version but this is leaving a really bad taste in my mouth. I am surprise that Markus isn't giving us a version of it that we can ALL enjoy.

I don't want to win every year. I'd like a chance to win every year, that's all.

THAT'S the team from my league that I beat 2 out of 5 in the playoffs last year with my piddly-little no perfect or diamond team.

Some people enjoy spending money on useless bling. Broaden your horizon.

Eventually, you will have that every year. You just have to let promotion/relegation do its thing.

Last season, my team lost 98 games. This season, I added a 75 Mike Clevinger and that's it. I started out 8-1 so far. I had all whales in my division last year and this year I stayed in the bronze league and it's much easier. A month from now, all leagues should be quite balanced.

So wait a week or two and the PTW teams will get promoted out of your league...

They gave you this whole new game mode for free! And you're whining about a small delay in your enjoyment...wow

I'm almost to the point of just taking all my "starters" and benching them to earn the breaking streaks points.

Do that for 4-5 weeks (like everyone here says will magically fix things) and check back in to see how many points I have and then trying again.

Yay!

Very possible, and I'm not going to stop playing or anything. Not costing me anything (unless I decide) and I fully support the OOTP team making as much $$$ as they can. I am all for Team Making Money.

What if i enjoy price fixing every top historic perfect/platinum card that comes out on the market? Should i be allowed to do that because of money?

can only speak for myself, but couldn't disagree more with the bolded part.... not planning on spending $$ for points in PT, but will be playing/building my teams to compete nonetheless (link to my dynasty thread that chronicles my 2 teams ups-n-downs in my sig)... Now once v20 comes out, I'll probably move there and slowly drift away from the v19 universe, but I'll still check in there (get attached to my teams, so don't want to leave 'em hanging )

do you have a team/teams in PT now? If so, how did they fare last season?

one of the heavy hitters in my league last week lost in the LCS to a team with 41 fewer wins in the regular season; so anything is possible...

I have a 2nd team that is doing exactly that, but I didn't bench anyone. Better players will earn more PP than a team built on breaking losing streaks. I plan on going back and building that team after it collects about 50k PP.

What if I decide to buy OOTP Developments and shut it down so you can't play anymore? LOL

This is getting a little crazy.

The promotion-relegation will move him away from you soon. All the other teams like that will be gone too.

Poor me, I have a really good team and I will have to face these guys every week. Your team will find its own level in 2-3 more weeks and you will be competing against teams with like talent.

The sad thing is I've spent about $50 extra on points and have a team that is 1-8 (after last season finishing with 94 wins). So much for spending a "reasonable" amount of money to win.

Oh well. At least I won't be throwing good money after bad going forward.

(p.s. This game really is one big crap shoot if you decide to not spend much. If you're lucky enough to draw some good players in packs it's fun! If not?......)

I think it's kinda funny people are spending so much on a few months of version 19, when they will get a full year on version 20....
