gonna have to stay up a little longer here.... my pre-1950s team has a 2 game lead in their dismal division (leading the division at 80-80)... being chased by Crippling Depression (
there's a headline just waiting to be published).... my final games are against the 93-67 division winners in the NC East.... their final games are against the 57-103 last place team in our divisionholding out hope that I can eek out a win (or they drop one), cause it's win or go home.... no wildcard coming out of this division. edit: gah! One game left.... one game lead... here's hoping I can avoid the 1 game playoff for the division title. Last edited by stl jason; 12-08-2018 at 11:33 PM. |

Woot!! Red Faber earns his pay as my #1 starter and pulls out the win on the last day of the season to clinch the title. my sad little 81-81 team will probably get stomped in the playoffs, but at least we made it

Ended the season 95 and 67 and still ended up 18 games behind the leader and I had a 17 game lead over third place.
In the american conference in my league only 4 teams had winning records. In fact the AC east was won by a team who ended the season 4 games under .500 |

I finished 88-74 and grabbed the 2nd wildcard spot, luckily prior to my final series which was against Kushiel. I can't believe I actually had a positive record against you until that series.
And now we get to play 1 more game. Will it be 10-10 for the year or 9-11?? I ended up going 9-10 against Catalina as well.

Looks like I'll be in a wildcard game for my first one. Let's hope the AI manages my team correctly...

I managed to mess up my depth chart at some point, so I currently have a LF at 51% and a SS at 64%. Not sure how much of the season they've been playing tired. Oops. Verlander also had a 6.10 era in September, so I imagine the wildcard game is going to go well.

I take it this means you're in the WC game? [I can't imagine having that many wins and being out of the WC, but...] Is the other team comparably good?

Yeah, I will be in the wild card scam, although I should really just sell all the players on the 25-man for failing so dismally.

Ended up 87-75 and 1st wild card. Spent $10 after the league started, but only ended up with 2 players in my lineup that I started the year with. Kept 'buying' up and getting lucky with a few 1000 point packs. Was able to sell underperforming Diamond and Golds to get better, lower rated players.
If I win, I will face a 131-win team that has 10 HOF'ers in their lineup, 6 HOF pitchers and 22 Diamond players on their reserve roster. Can't imagine how much they spent. |
