Tau Theta league - class A
not sure if anyone from my league lurks about the boards... if so, here's a home to post/chat/etc... I'm manager of Ghost Hill...
after a shaky 5-8 start, my boys got their heads on straight and went on a nice tear (8-1) to pull within a half game of the NC east division lead.... here's hoping they keep it rolling. Looks like we've got a decent balance of teams in the league... only one off to a crazy hot start (Toronto already has a 7 game lead with an 18-4 record); but they aren't a 'whale' team at all (5 gold / 7 silver / 10 bronze / 3 iron), so they are making the most out of what they have. nearing the end of May for the Tau Theta league, five divisions continue to be tight while Toronto continues their solid play in the AC west, extending their lead to 13.5 games.
Ghost Hill rode the rollercoaster of ups and downs for the month and only managed a 14-14 record. Thankfully Sapporo basically did the same at 14-13, and the lead is only 1 game. |

through the month of June, Toronto, Darmstadt and Pitts maintain their place atop their respective divisions. Hartford pulled a half game ahead to take the lead away from Vancouver in the AC central. In the AC east, Santiago continued their strong play and put a 7 game cushion between themselves and Christchurch.
Ghost Hill had a fantastic month going 18-9. A key four game series against their division rivals from Sapporo proved to be most beneficial as Ghost Hill swept the series and ended the month 4.5 games in the lead. (edit: having your offense humming along also helps, as Ghost Hill leads the NC in Batting average, OBP, Slugging pct, OPS, Runs scored, Hits, and Extra base hits) Last edited by stl jason; 11-22-2018 at 01:45 PM. |

July wrapped up with Toronto, Santiago, Pitts and Darmstadt maintaining their lead in their respective divisions. Dorchester pulled into a tie with Hartford atop the AC central.
In the NC east, a strong month for Sapporo combined with a mediocre month for Ghost Hill meant they retook the division lead by 1 game. |

most of the division races tightened up significantly down the stretch, with only Darmstadt in the NC west running away with a double digit lead. Every division in the AC league finished with a mere 1 game lead.
Toronto came back down to earth from their lofty start and managed to fend off a charge by Dorchester to hold onto the AC west division crown. Hartford managed to hang on despite losing the last 2 games of the season to claim the top spot in the AC central. In the AC east, Woburn held the division lead with 12 games to play but stumbled with a 7-5 finish; while their division rivals from Santiago stormed to a 10-2 finish and claimed the division crown by 1 game. In the NC east, Sapporo finished strong to claim the division crown by 9 games. Ghost Hill continued their one step forward-one step back play and dropped to third place in the division; as Kentucky made a strong push to try and claim a wild card spot; but fell 1 game short of their goal. (have to say after reading a number of posts/threads complaining about imbalance and stacked teams; this season was fun to watch unfold. Even though my boys only managed to play .500 ball, watching the other division races tighten up down the stretch; and the fight for the wild card spots made for a bunch of different games to follow every sim cycle. Only 2 teams managed to win over 100 games (just barely) and only 2 teams ended up losing over 100 (again just barely); so there was a nice balance throughout the league. Looking forward to the reset to start building a new team.) Last edited by stl jason; 11-25-2018 at 09:28 AM. |

congrats to the Christchurch Redbirds winning the series (4-2 over Sapporo)... they were the 2nd wildcard team, so had to beat the 2nd best team (happened to be the 1st wildcard) and then the top team in the league just to get to the LCS, much less the WS... well done.
