I am shooting for a balanced gold/silver team with no weaknesses.

Some people will spend more $ and it'll give them an advantage, sure. But it doesn't guarantee that they can't be beat. Other people, choosing to spend little or no $, enjoy the challenge of doing more with less. Success feels that much better. IRL, the Oakland A's had a great season despite their low payroll. The same thing can be done in PT, I have no doubt.

I am 100% sure about that. And hey, how much fun can it be to kick some whale-butt, hm? I guess a ton

I have a 68 rated player that's 4th in our league in WAR

he's probly due for a slump, but still...

That statement really means nothing without knowing the overall quality of opponents.

I would imagine its not much different than the quality of any other league is they were all randomly set up, and its likely some people have gotten lucky with PP and others have not

I am 12 games behind in the division but fighting for a wild card spot

I'm definitely gonna take a wait-and-see approach with this one. The pay-to-win is certainly there, but as others have said, there's also promotion/relegation which should keep things sorted.

I'm gonna spend $20 and my team will likely still be mostly silvers

Okay, shouldn't we have another thread complaining about how some people have more free time than others and therefore might have better teams because of it?

Should we not have leagues only for retired people?

I'm married and I think I may at some point have to talk to my wife or go somewhere with her. Doesn't this put me at a disadvantage?

I am in for a seniors league. How about a cranky old man league? Oh wait, that's the same league.

on the bright side, even if you go somewhere with her, your team will keep playing while you're gone.

just opened my starter packs last night, put a team together and threw them to the wolves.... there's a good chance they could have 0 wins after almost a day of sims; but I try to look on the positive side.... at least I can't be fired
