Veeck as in wreck Love him but hate him . Great showman. Planted the ivy in wrigley, Exploding scoreboard but ruined 2 Sox teams.

For all I know about OOTP, the owner could be furious for any other reason. The OP didn't sign a local player. He didn't upgrade his third right-handed reliever. He didn't get 92,000 spectators to the park...

We are talking Bill Veeck here. My guess is beer prices have been raised too dramatically for the series and/or the bleacher set was priced out of these games. Winning is nice and all, but Mr. Veeck mostly cares about keeping the hardcore, blue-collar fans happy. (This isn't the yuppie north side my friends.)
