Baseline Batting Stats Based On Position

I imagine the answer to this is no, but is there a way to change the baseline batting stats based on position? I'm specifically looking to bump up pitcher batting average, but I imagine there might be someone out there wanting to manage batting stats for position players too (e.g., SSs weren't always decent hitters). The game doesn't take eras into account when assigning talent based on position does it? My guess is it imagines the difference between a 1B and a P or a SS, batting-wise, is consistent throughout time.

pcms? but i think that's more of a rising tide than a bump to a specific position. having trouble recalling screen layout... it's not by position right?

maybe in one of the config files we can adjust per position things?

outside of that you'd have to make your own. automate it through a spreadhseet, but you'd have to export draft pool and apply manipulations to ratings by position and re-import.

e.g. you give all those with 'cather ability > 50' a bump to contact and whatever else of a specific % or simply add +x etc. reproduces exported file on 'output' sheet, and export that output sheet as changed csv file for ootp import. setting it up would take time, but after that it's just a minor hassle every year

that takes a few seconds.

Yeah, PCMs are an everybody at once setting whereas I'm looking for a by position solution. I'll look into the config files, but I'm thinking the only option is changing ratings via export/import, testing how they do, and then tweaking them.
