Entire lineup batting over .300

Just noticed that 65 games into the season, my entire lineup is batting over .300!

Sitting at 52-13, went on a 19-game winning streak from 30-10 to 49-10. Everyone in the lineup has contact rating at least 60/80 and all but one (catcher) has eye of 50/80. Also running a loose 6 man rotation with 3 two-way players skipping starts if matchup is not favourable. Having huge problem keeping all talents around now with the young crew reaching free agency in succession.

For some reason, Joy-Shan Mu, an Australian player, has a built in nickname "Happy". So, Joy-Shan "Happy" Mu.

How did you end up with Mookie, if you don't mind me asking? I'm managing the Sox and just finished my first season and I'm trying to sign him to a long term deal. Did you sign him in FA and if so, what did you offer him?

gotta start trading them with recent draft picks for a nearly developed replacement of similar potential. if ages are ranged enough, can do 1-2 a year and transition without losing much. better to do this in advance rather than at the time of need -- allows for greater # of options etc. if 5-7 years out and depending on an 18yo, maybe have 2 or more in stock, lol.

when you don't need the position of what is leaving, because you got that 1 or more years ago, you typically have more options relative to future needs -- ie 2-3 important players of similar age you need to get rid of at a future date. you can mix and match more attractive packages and get better players in return based on which team gives the most of the 2-3 options of future need.

if "9" of your everyday fielder or often used pitcher are all 30-32, it might be too late to avoid a dip. if you can let go and don't have too many weak drafts in a row, you can keep a lineup like that and under budget in perpetuity. plus a few good FA signings and trade after a year or 2 before aging etc.. easy to have trade assets with a ~1/2 club control team nearly all the time.

I acquired him in 2024 and it is a strange situation so I'm not sure if it applies to you. Red Sox were somehow bad in 2018/2019 so they traded Betts to Cardinals. Betts then became a free agent in 2020 and 2021, but inexplicably only managed 1-year deal with ~11M both season. Eventually he got a 4-year 16.8M each deal with the Reds. Now the past offseason, 2 years into that deal, I traded my starting RF Eloy Jimenez (who had been very good at times but inconsistent and nearing free agency) and three decent pitching prospects for Betts. In exchange the Reds eat up 50% of his contract so I could save some money to extend other guys.

Wow, what a journey for Mookie lol. Thank you for answering that for me. My Sox team lost to Cleveland (again) in the playoffs in 2018 and now in the off-season I'm trying to sign Mookie to a big deal instead of going to arbitration, but he only wants to sign a one year deal. I'm trying to lock him down for a long term deal but he's not budging.
