Opening day is a blast...little problem

I've had trouble in the past trying to play some games during the current season. Because I often...not always...had trouble updating a teams roster. The thing where you can't send them down unless...etc.

But at least for my first game this year...no problem setting the rosters and lineups for the Cards and Mets. Played through 5 and it is great.

Did have one problem however. I could not figure out how to get the Mets pitcher to bat 8. That's what the Mets did today. The space was just greyed out and you couldn't do anything with it.

Guess there is something else to check in order to do this?? : )

Hmm. I've seen the AI annoyingly bat the pitcher 8th a *lot*, at least in v18. If I had a wish regarding this, in fact, it's to not have the AI do this at all until like the 2010s unless you have a two way player or something.

ai controlled team? you'd have to use commissioner mode and hand set the lineup when you start their game, then sim to end of game if you don't want to play it out..

or act as gm and change their depthchart/lineup so that teh 8th slot is empty or designated for a pitcher etc.. however tha tworks.. i always us dh leagues, so take what i say and run with it, if and extra step is necessary.

should jsut amount to dragging a name somewhere and rearraging etc.. either way.

tidbit: possibly traditional vs sabermetric lineup model setting could affect this? not at all sure about that, but worth a look. believe that's Global settings-> ai evaluation tab settings? finite number of tabs for settings, i'm sure you cna find it knowing that it exists somewhere.

I just thought having both teams set to human control would stop this. But it really doesn't so played the game with pitcher 9th.

Problem is for a team or team I think this will be a frequent problem.
