Since you're adding the winners of the preorder contest to the game as draft prospects, would it be a fitting tribute to do the same with him? Give the man who worked so hard on the rosters his spot on one?
Very high WE, very high loyalty

Goodbye Howard

My condolences to everyone close to Howard. Each loss that we endure diminishes each of us in some way, but with Howard he has left behind so much of himself, his work and his love of baseball. We should all feel fortunate to have been touched by him, in whatever capacity. I know that Markus did not want this leaked out yet, but I have this from a reliable source that Howard has been promoted to vice president in charge of personnel and rosters in that "next" BIG league in the sky.

Yes, we will do this. Howard will forever be a part of OOTP.

I still cannot believe he is gone

Is there anything that we can do, such as a collective gift or contribution to his family or a charity or cause that he believed in? I would be honored to contribute. Sometimes these seemingly small gestures are more appreciated than we can conceive.

I didn't know Howard well, but I saw enough in his posts to see how much he loved OOTP. My condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.

A big loss to the community. His work will carry on through every version of the game.

I worked with him back in 2012 on the roster set. Still have his messages saved here. The dedication and passion he had was contagious.

A Tribute to the Tribute

I don't think I have ever seen this many thanks given to one post in all my time here in these forums. Not even when Markus has made one of his super-colossal announcements about an upcoming OOTPB feature.

I wanted to send my deepest condolences to Howard's family and friends, including the team for Out of the Park Baseball and those elsewhere in the community who knew him well. To each and everyone you, I give you my best regards.

I updated the initial post with this, but wanted to add it here for those who might miss it otherwise.

We just found out that there is a go fund me account to help the Woolfolk family defer Howard's funeral expenses. You can find the link here. If you're in a position to be able to help out, they would surely appreciate it!

Thanks so much for whatever you can do and for all the expressions of sympathy and support in this thread!

This is certainly sad news. I remember working closely with Howard on some of the first MLB full organizational rosters back in OOTPX and 11.

He was a great person and fantastic contributor to the OOTP franchise.

Heh, I've stopped bothering to update that screen print anymore. Now it's up to 210 thanks!

And it's now "From 95Mariners to zappa." Sorry, abell.

What horrible news. I always appreciated the hard work, dedication, as well as openness to suggestions Howard put towards this vital part of the game. I hope his family is doing well.

I'm sure it was a very tough day, and for you acting as a sort of representative for the OOTP world, thank you very much. All the best wishes go to Howard's family and his friends.

Like most, I did not know the man personally. I do, however, know his extensive work he did for OOTP. It goes without saying that I give my condolences to his family and friends. This entire community will miss his presence.
