whoever those morons who call the White Sox games.
Moron A: "PUT IT ON THE BOARD!!!"
Morons A and B "YES!!!"
please change your schtick or die.

Not nearly as bad as those previously mentioned, but; Jeff Brantley gets on my nerves. Please quit using the phrase "step it up" and you will be off of my list.

Joe Morgan (the Idiot)--Seems to constantly be making stupid comments and always seems to ramble on and on about them. The latest constantly going on about Philadelphia booing Rolen during Sunday night's game. Its a shame that he has one of the most notable telecasts on television.

Tim McCarver (the Moron)--Much like Morgan he constantly makes some stupid comments and shifts back & forth from one side to the next. Another amazement that he continues to find work in the high profile games even though the baseball telecasts have shifted from each network, he apparently has some compromising photos of every network bigwig.

A new person added to my list: David Justice (the Ego)--I have never heard a broadcaster start out as many sentences with the words "When I was a player" (not the exact phrase he uses but I think you get the point). He'd be much better off talking about his brief marriage to Halle Berry if he feels the need to talk about himself, atlest then some people might actually care.

And just about all "homer" announcers gets on my nerves, its grating to watch games on WGN & TBS (FOX when Joe Buck is calling a Cardinals game) with the sound on if you aren't a fan of those particular teams.

Joe Theismann
Pat Summerall (the last 5 years)
Harry Carey (the last 5 years)
Jerry Glanville
Hawk
DJ
Skip Carey

Could you imagine being Steve Stone in the final years of Harry Carey? I saw Carey call a homerun one time when the ball was obviously caught for the third out. Carey was going on and on about how that batter was on a tear and that was number whatever homerun and WGN was trying to go to commerical. They finally just cut him off.

Anyone who covers the jays. I forget if it was Cerutti or Faulds, but one of them said "Easy fly to right field.... that'll be a homerun."

Also that damn announcer who says "You can put it on the boaaarrrrrrddddd.... Yes!" after EVERY freakin' homerun.

And here I thought I'd post a first and say Rob Faulds, but CP beats me to it. The guy is an idiot when it comes to baseball. What the hell is he doing announcing baseball games?? Oh how I long for Schulman & Martinez.

And add 2 votes for Tim McCarver and Joe Morgan.

And what was the name of the guy that asked 1 of the Yankees in an ASG or WSG about Pete Rose? Never liked him either.

EDIT: It just came to me, I was thinking of Jim Gray.

Like HR and for the same reasons, I really like Jon Miller. Another announcer I like is Jim Kaat.

Bill Walton is the ultimate awful announcer. I have yet to ever hear him say anything remotely interesting and/or relevant. I do like hearing "Snapper" rip the **** out of him every game.

Joe Morgan, of course. What is amazing is that he was such a great player who did all the things statheads love (draw walks, hit for power, great defense, etc) and yet seems to have absolutely no understanding of how the game works. Really wierd.

Rick Sutcliffe, and this is coming from a long-time Cubs fan. He and Walton are the only two announcers who make me genuinely angry. I have to turn the sound off of the games they broadcast. The guy is the ultimate "intangibles, veteran experience, clutch"-type assjockey that I loath. Never has anything interesting to say but, like Morgan and Walton, seems to think he knows it all.

Tim McCarver is such an egotistical and inconsistent prick. He is constantly trying to educate us peons about the subtle nuances that only a true insider like he would know. There are a couple problems with it though. For one, most of his little tidbits are obvious to anyone who has ever watched more than a few baseball games in his life and for another, half the time he is wrong or he contradicts what he said previously (often in the same inning). Just a joke.

In total agreement with DD about the ESPN Sunday night crew. I haven't watched a Sunday night game in years because they are so terrible. Patrick is boring, Theismann is arrogant AND stupid, and McGuire is one of those people who thinks they are hilarious but no one else seems to.

On the flipside-

Jon Miller is probably the best announcer working the game today. Willing to challenge Morgan which I love and is also very intelligent, knowledgable, and loves the game with all his heart. A pleasure to listen to.

The guy saying "YES!" would be Ken Harrelson, one of my choices. The worst homer in the game.

Would a moron if not called a moron still call games as poorly?
At least now I know why they are always talking about golf. I can't stand hearing rich white guys talking about their golf game.

Al Hrabosky. No question.

He does the color on local Cardinals broadcasts on WB 11, and he makes me homicidal.

He's irritable a good chunk of the time, and won't stop babbling about his pet topics, most of which don't make any sense. He's just dumb.

I used to hate Josh Lewin, but he's gotten better and has learned to stay on topic a bit more.

I hate Stuart Scott on ESPN.

Maybe I just missed it, but I, sadly, have not seen Dick Vitale's name pop up yet.
