Quick version for now: add a league ID field to the schedule file structure. So a match-up is identified not just by the team ID numbers but also by a league ID number.

The two general ways of interleague association games are as follows.

(1) Have individual league schedule fiels for the leagues within an association. The issue there is that the onus is on the user to make sure any interleague games are properly set up in each of the necessary league schedules.

(2) Have a master association file which contains the schedules for all the member leagues of that association. This makes it easier to co-ordinate any interleague play since it's all contained within one file.

For either method having a master association day number in addition to individual league day numbers to set the date games are played on is a necessary component for this to work. (This master association day number is keyed to start on the first day a member league starts it season. This allows schedules to be co-ordinated if member league schedules don't all start on the same day.)

I can post an example of what it would look like in schedule file format later (not on my regular computer at the moment).

An other solution is to schedule inter-league games within an association by using the in-game schedule editor.
Problem is, stats for all such games are listed as home team league's stats which can be disconcerting. (not sure if I 'm clear)

Below is an example of what I mean.

Consider a case where an association contains three leagues. One league starts on Apr. 3; the second league opens on Apr. 7; and the third league opens on Apr. 10. The master "association day" number starts on the date on which the first league starts its season; in this instance, that's Apr. 3. Using the current "day" value to designate the season day for a league, and a new "assn_day" value to designate the association season day, this is how the day numbers work out for the three leagues for the respective season openings:

League 1: April 3 is "day=1" and "assn_day=1"
League 2: April 7 is "day=1" and "assn_day=5"
League 3: April 10 is "day=1" and "assn_day=8"

In terms of what the schedule entry would look like for an interleague game featuring Team 5 of League 2 visiting Team 7 of League 3 on April 10th.

For League 2
assn_day="8" day="4" time="1310" away_lg="2" away="5" home_lg="3" home="7"

For League 3
assn_day="8" day="1" time="1310" away_lg="2" away="5" home_lg="3" home="7"

(April 10th is the fourth day of the season for League 2 but the first day of the season for League 3.)

i have a fictional world league that i've been planning for a dynasty. And i've used the association there. Once i figured how it shared rules i was happy about it.

And i agree, the association feature could add a better history. As a workaround, the association games are on the team's schedule so you can find them. i use the almanac so i can go back and find them. It just takes an extra step.

Anyway, i also hope they continue to add on to this feature.

Yeah,I noticed that also. If someone is going for a batting title and their team starting playing teams in other Leagues then he stats don't add up for his own League.

Still it's fun playing this way because you see different match-ups. It's very easy to make mistakes with the schedule editor(team playing two different teams on the same day).
