Association Improvements for OOTP 18

Has anyone caught wind of any improvements to the association feature? I've decided that this is my number one hope for improvement for the next version. It would add so much to the fictional games. We need better history and leaderboards, and it's playoffs games need to be more visible. I'm sure many fictional players have several leagues where they want to have combined leaderboards for.

This would be my number one wish as well, as I make regular use of associations in my fictional leagues - although I don't think it is that likely to happen.

it might not, but they could surprise us. historical minor leagues was a huge surprise last year.

We're in a catch-22 on associations. They're not updated because no one uses them, but no one uses them because they're not updated.

The data we get back from the game, when it asks you if it can send reports to the devs, and you say ok.

i thought that only tracked the type of games you created. if that's the case, everyone create a bunch of fictional leagues with associations!

Aaaaaaaah... Associations.
Such a promising feature and so criminally under-developped.

I use Associations all the time by the way. And I play only fictionnal.

I know some people are keeping track of this.

I use them but only for tournaments in my fictional game with multiple international leagues. Besides that they're worthless. Probably my second favorite wish behind the WBC and international tournaments.

Its how MLB used to be organised before 2000 so it should be an essential element of any historical set-up

never knew about this until a few weeks ago ... it would be great if the Negro Leagues could be set up with something along these lines. (Possibly the Nippon Leagues in the late 30s already work?) i honestly don't fully understand how it functions, but since i am playing in the deadball era there are no associated leagues to give it a try. The manual wasn't exactly a boatload of info for those of us on the dense side. We'll have to see if it gets improved and/or expanded. Could be quite interesting if it worked the way i think it could, but i may be imagining it all wrong too. anyway, here's a vote for improving it .....

It basically does two things:

1) You can set up a playoff tournament for associated leagues
2) You can assign some common roster rules for associated leagues

But that's it. It's super minimal, which is a shame.

This could be done with some enhancements to the schedule file structure. (There are two ways it could be done; both have their advantages and disadvantages.)
