Which do you use for in-game play 3D or Broadcast

While 3D has made some great strides, I eventually went back to the broadcast screen. Which do you prefer?

I like the broadcast screen but for some reason this year I cant get the ball graphics on there. Only the 3D screen.

I did webcast exclusively last year because I played 66% of the games. I think I'm going to cut that in half this year and play in 3D wide.

Broadcast-----oh and I would love broadcast and webcast even more if it could return to the non spinning cursor days of OOTP16. But, I'm guessing 3D is the cause.

I know Markus & Co. are very proud of the 3D. And they should be. But, I'll be honest: it does nothing for me. I don't use it, don't care about it, etc. For MLB games modern & historical I use the broadcast view because I've accumulated many gigabits of MLB & MiLB park pictures over the years. But I mainly play fictional now and I prefer the Webcast view because 1) it is easy to make ballpark diagrams with all the tools we have now. 2) I like my fictional leagues to be fictional. It's immersion breaking for me to see the Boston Colonials playing in what is clearly Fenway Park.

The Spinning Cursor is very annoying. I play out all my games and it has added 8-10 minutes to each one of them. I was hoping Markus would fix this in a patch if possible.

Do you have sound enabled? I had this same problem because I turn the sound off, but was told that in this version I have to have sound on in order to have ball flight. I turned sound back on and now I have the ball flight back.

Yup, I've set up Spotify to play Steppenwolf's Spinning Wheel over and over and over again as I play out games with this version. But, even that's getting on my nerves. Maybe I need to add more songs......Billy Preston's "Will it go Round in Circles" Harry Chapin's All my Lifes a Circle.......

I liked 3D a lot at first, but now it crashes every time there's a passed ball or a wild pitch. So, I was kind of forced to use broadcast, but I think I actually prefer it now.

I use the 3D because I like what they've done with it, the little pawns that represent the players are interesting but I like how the 3D has progressed over the last few years. I have an older computer with a small monitor though so I don't use the widescreen version, just the regular one.

Broadcast only, cause I really like the PbP and the game is essentially taking place in my imagination, like with a radio broadcast. The 3D view doesn't really contribute to that and since it doesn't play nice with the PbP I won't use it. And 3D is still in a pretty rudimentary state I think.

Was hoping they would further develop TTS this year - I think that is a killer feature for the future, but still hoping for improvements with 18

Are you talking about the baseball not spinning? I ask because I don't remember as before 3D I rarely played games out. I just loaded an exhibition game up and I don't see anything spinning in broadcast view. If anything, the baseball looks way too big and it'd probably look better if it did spin.

Huh, I wonder if that's a bug because you don't need sound enabled for the animation in 3D. I like the sound, but only sometimes. Often I want to listen to something else so I'm sure that's a real downer for some.

Spinning Wheel not Steppenwolf but Blood, Sweat & Tears.....Steppenwolf did record a song Circle Of Confusion....Confused?

Anyway....When Opening Day (should be National Holiday) game update is installed I will begin playing out every game via 3D. Sure some weird things happen, but hey...it's not IRL....I imagine I'll play broadcast once in a while for old times sake. Good Job on the 3D Marcus. Improvements needed but hasn't this game come a loooongg way. Thanks

Not even sure what baseball you're seeing in the broadcast view. I'm talking about the "cursor" spinning . With this years game when you hit 1 to initiate the play, you get the play by play and then the cursor changes from an arrow to a blue spinning circle. I'm guessing this is when the game is processing the 3D(even thought it's disabled). It's not a huge deal, but it is annoying, especially after playing 16, 15, 14.......with out a spinning wheel.

Oh! That. It goes by so fast for me that I didn't notice it. I think it's actually a Windows 10 thing. At least I think I've seen it outside of OOTP and only since Windows 10 came out. It's like how notification popups are blue now.

EDIT: I just loaded OOTP16 and I see it doesn't change from the arrow cursor at all.

Yeah loved 3D first game I played. Havent been able to get thru another game without a crash since.
