I see where to post my teams needs. Is there a way to see other teams needs?

I don't think they're listed anywhere, if the AI does it at all. Maybe that's what should be in the league screens with the current screen only in the teams area. It'd be interesting to see specific needs of other teams like that instead of just guessing based on the coloured dots next to positions on the trade screens. "I really want their guy, but they don't seem to want to accept anything" ... *looks at their needs* "oh, so they really want a SP prospect, okay, well I don't mind parting with Joe Unknown in A ball"

I like the team needs for the most part but unfortunately 95% of the trades I've been offered have been on the ridiculous side (minor leaguer with low potential for my superstar or 1-3* guy for my 5* player...).
That wouldn't be so bad if they would stop offering it to me when I reject the trade... Unfortunately they just keep offering the same trade 3-4 times without changing anything even though I've clicked the reject option. I did notice one offer where they changed it a few times but it was to lower the money they were offering with the player (is making their offer worse) as if I was going to accept a worse deal lol. That being said I have had a couple offers work out and overall I like the feature. |

I actually got offered a decent trade via the team needs yesterday. I playing as the Nationals (current MLB) and I lost David Murphy for the season to a ligament tear. So I put a call out for a second baseman and the Rays offered me Brad Miller and one of their top 10 prospects for only one of my top 3 prospects. All in all, I think it worked out well for both teams.

I just finished my first post-season off season and have to say that while I like the team needs thing, it isn't really working out. I mean maybe I'm mis-using it but the guys I'm being offered (even the three star guys) aren't really available in the sense that the team offering doesn't want any of my trades. I need to give away my best players (multiple) to get a trade for even run of the mill players and even when that might work they can't afford the salary hit so there's no way for me to make the trade.
It's entirely possible I'm missing something but I ended up deleting my team needs because it was just becoming spam email (especially when every two days they say I might be interested in the same guy. If someone has advice I'm open to it! |

I have to agree that the AI is asking for your best players in all the offers I got so far, NOT realistic. (my settings are normal/neutral).
And I would like to see the teams AI needs if that's possible to implement, it might help negotiations but right now it's like trying to bargain and being blind at what they want. |

Speaking of which is there an explanation somewhere for how the coloured baseballs work? I thought I'd figured out but I'm not sure at all anymore after last night since even my sides colours changed depending on team I was trying g to trade with. Very cool fused as to what those are supposed to represent.

I like the team needs --- but when I add what I am looking for - and get some interest. They don't want any of my players.
So that brings me to a question. I have been playing this game for a long time, and I am a life long baseball fan. I took an expansion team after the 2016 MLB season, and we are terrible. 35-60 ---- nothing to really brag about - the expansion draft was pathetic, I have limited amount of talent in my farm system, and I have picked up some scout finds that seem promising - but they are light years from the ML. What advise would you give me? I have limited talent to trade. And what I did have (Joe Blanton), I dealt to a playoff contender for a pair of 3 star - with 4 potential young SPs. Other than that, I have little to offer. Advice appreciated!! |

They offer me a guy that i would be interested in but when i click on "Make this trade work!" they come back with "You have no player who makes this deal work!". My question is, why are they offering players to me if they don't want any of my players? |

It might take multiple guys to work out a deal, or you might have to play around more with salaries. But hey, you asked about guys that fit your needs. They're just replying which of their guys fit the criteria. |

Matt Arnold - that makes sense, but, if they have players that meet your needs, and they are willing to trade them - then the process should be willing to be discussed vice "You have no players that interest us" - then if that is the case, why reply in the first place?

Ya as matt says the make this work now button is for 1:1 trades. It doesn't construct multi-player deals. I think the problem is you really need to use upper limit restrictions s intelligently so you don't get offered players they won't part with (at least without getting your whole team in exchange).
The issue is guys at the three star level that they wont part with unless I give up my ace pitcher of 4-5 stars (and he's the only guy they want). I can offer 4 good other players but until I put that one dude in (which makes for a wholly unfair trade even if he was the only one I put in) they're just like "nope." Post seems more negative than it should. They aren't all like this. It's just frustrating to be offered the same guy as a target of interest like 3 times in a game week when he essentially is not available to me. Makes you turn off the team need for that one lol. |

Thanks for the response Matt and others. I"ll play around with it and see if I can give them 3 or 4 prospects for the players they offer.

In theory the team needs should make trading much easier.
You set a need of 23-27 yr old 2b minimum average quality and those are the offers you get. Not the 18yr old 1* pot LF in AA for your 4* SP, your not looking for that. Maybe a toggle for any offer like it is now if you don't define a team need. Imagine real life gm's getting these types of offers for their stars, they would stop answering your calls. |
