I'm having problems with this too, but on a Dell my resolution is 1920x1080 and like the other Dell user said.. never had this problem before with last years version.. things may have been cut off but once i went full screen it seemed everything would show up.. but now going full screen is a mess.. it doesn't work at all.

SP3 user too here. As some reported, OOTP 16 gave me weird graphic messages at first. I know I had modified the display settings of item size in the Display panel of Windows. I made sure I reverted this to original setting, restarted the SP3 and now OOTP launches fine. Also don't use full screen, use windowed in Game Settings if you have issues. See screenshot.

On this screenshot, I am at Maximum Font Size in Game Settings. But as you can see, it is not still that big. I would ask the developers to consider providing an even bigger font, especially for high density screen like the SP3 (don't even think about using standard font, it is so small, it is not very eye-friendly).

For those of you on the fence regarding SP3, I say pull the trigger. You will not regret it. It is one of the most fantastic piece of tablet + PC tech equipment I have ever owned. The pen is fantastic to take handwritten notes.

Tzar, Can you add a screen shot of your OOTP display settings, and your Windows screen resolutions/DPI settings?

This for me. When I press F2 it doesn't do full screen.

Hello fellow Surface users. I was having issues with the resolution settings as well. I think I found a work around. On the OOTP 16 program icon right click, then go to properties. Then compatibility. There should be a setting for "disable display scaling on high DPI settings". I clicked that and was able to get the resolution I wanted.

There you go. The screenshot of the "Change the size of all items" is a screen that is accessed by clicking on the "Make text and other items larger or smaller" link that is in the first screenshot. As Kodiak says above, you should also check "disable display scaling on high DPI settings" in the properties of the OOTP16 shortcut.

I'm actually a little embarrassed that I forgot to try this first. Worked like a charm!

Problem solved!!!! Why didn't we have to do this with OOTP15? Thanks Kodiak!

Sadly I don't even have a surface(wish I did) but this worked for me as well on my laptop.

Hi,

If you already have the test app please uninstall it then re- download and re-install. I have just uploaded v1.1 with a minor change. I did not realise the code was asking for 640x480 fullscreen mode which is not what we want. The new version should open the fullscreen display in your desktop resolution.

https://www.pisd.co.uk/webstore/down...st-windows.zip

Let me know what happens... Thanks...

EDIT: don't use the workaround mentioned above on the test app as that would mask any potential problem we are looking for....

pisdpaul, I've sent another log file with the new tool. It still appears to be 640x480.

If you look in the "PISD Platform.txt" file you will see the line:

App: Platform Test 1.0

Which means you are still running the old version as the new version is 1.1. I can only assume something was cached somewhere...

I just downloaded the new version, installed it to a fresh location, and I'm also still getting 640x480. The debug file shows Platform Test 1.0 for me as well.

Alright, that did it. Just emailed you my file.

When I ran the test this time, the program didn't go full-screen or anything, it just shifted to the upper left corner of my screen

Hmm, that is most definitely not the expected behaviour. I have added some more trace to try and understand why the screen does not resize when entering fullscreen. Can you reinstall this version (1.2) and run the same test again...

I don't have the surface 3.. but this screen resolution thing really is annoying me.. I never had this problem before.. and the only time my game works properly(it seems) is when I do the workaround... besides for that.. I'm not even able to enjoy the game.
