Mystery Parallel League?

I started a real world league. I deleted the league history, held an inaugural draft and randomized player names.

A couple days into my first season, I received a message saying that my fan interest declined because a player signed with another team. Weird since league history was deleted....

Anyhow, I clicked on the team that signed him and discovered that although it was Arizona, it didn't have the same team name as my league. When I went into the World screen, I noticed that there's a second parallel league, meaning it has a full minor league system, the same major league cities, etc.

Why was this league created? Does it have any effect on my league? Can I delete this league without affecting my league?

The league was likely created in the beginning - you said it was a "real world league"?

First check to see if it already existed.

Yes, you can delete that league without affecting the others. All players will be dumped to the FA pool.

Yeah, when I created the game, I picked the Real World option. I was creating a brand new game, so I'm not sure why two leagues were created and not one.

How do I check if it already existed? What do you mean "created in the beginning"? Beginning of what?

Can I delete the league and everything that goes with it: players, managers, history, etc? I don't want there to be a bunch of great free agents all of a sudden. Simply put, I only want league, which I thought would have been the default? I certainly didn't ask for a second league. I'm trying to replicate "real life" MLB structure.

I don't see parallel leagues, but leagues I delete do still sometimes appear in the DB and can be found during clicking fits. I've purged quite a bit in my current league because it's over 300 seasons old, but..the remenants still exist and will show up when you try to do things like affiliate an unaffiliated league's draft pool with another league or sometimes clicking on an old team that no longer exists and then it shows up.

So yeah...this could happen though the league itself doesn't actually produce results from what I can tell.

When players reach free agency in this league, will teams in my league be able to pick them up? That would be horrible. If it's just kind of in the background, the only harm is the hard drive space the league is taking up. How do I delete it and all of its players/managers/owners/etc.?

Yes, you can do that.

First go to each team in the league, look at their full roster, then use the mass select option and delete all players. Once the teams have no players, then delete the league. This will prevent the players from going to your FA pool.
