FWIW, I too would prefer to see players, managers, coaches, scouts, and other personnel eventually pass away, assuming that's not something that would require an insane amount of programming time. With commish mode, you could "resurrect" any of them to bring them back into your league at whatever point in their career you wish.

And the option to freeze their image at a certain age would be nice too, so you could, for example, have FaceGen pics of all your Hall of Famers in their prime, if you want.

Well we've added a new coder so maybe if it's not time consuming it can be done. I'm all for retired players, coaches etc passing on at some point based simply on life expectancy and also hope that wouldn't be hard to add. It woudl be nice when looking at history to find nobody well over 100. It's actually more depressing to see somebody that's a 180 and must be suffering than to see they died at age 95

I hate asking for options as there are so many now but I would like to turn off deaths for active players if this were added. It's been depressing enough IRL when a player is dies in some way. I try to get away from those things when I play OOTP (and yes I have drugs turned off in my league

) Sure I could go in and "bring them back" in commish mode and that would be ok if it were the only way to add this. But I don't mess in my league using commish mode to "correct" things and I'd rather keep it that way. Without an option there would have to be a news item for every death(and you'd have to be diligent about checking the news daily) otherwise how would one know someone needed to be resurrected?

Players definitely should be allowed to pass away.I am even fine with the occasional story line of an active player passing. It's no different than a CEI, but much more jarring and sudden. It should be rare. Maybe once every 5 - 10 years or so.

I kinda think it would be realistic for the "retired numbers" on a ballclub to have black mourning bands on a sleeve of the uniform or a number patch of the recently departed player for the season. Perhaps a facegen mod for mourning template.

Just adding my 2 cents that players should indeed die.

Anything else is just oddly unrealistic.

If people really have a problem with it for some reason, you can make it optional.
