Trading inside your division in a modern MLB OOTP game
There used to be solid admonition against trading within your own division because of how it could affect playoff chances, but does the modern playoff setup of two wild cards per league make that rule a lot more flexible now?

I think it's really about need. A team needing a middle reliever from a bad team within the division seems plausible. Or a spare outfielder. But trading stars? Not unless they're flagging.

I suppose it is more "flexible" now, or as had been said is a lot more need-based rather than based on divisional alignment. A couple of trades that come to mind are the Red Sox trading Andrew Miller to the Orioles. The Orioles needed a left-handed reliever, and they paid a premium with one of their own top prospects going to the Red Sox. Also, to a lesser extent, Stephen Drew traded to the Yankees for Kelly Johnson. Obviously, neither team made the playoffs, so that's a little different.
