Player-Coaches

In the late 1800's and early 1900's in the MLB there were player managers, some notable ones being Ty Cobb, Roger Hornsby, Cap Anson, as well as many others, and it would be really cool to see that implemented into our game (optional of course)

I mean...you could already do this if you wanted to. Managers are cosmetic unless yo are playing with coaches on, in which case, you could generate a coach from your player and then make him a player again and have both in the game as the same time.

I agree that users should be able to have player-managers in OOTP. Right now, though, the problem with making a player into a manager or coach is that the game treats them as two separate individuals, rather than one individual taking on two roles. For instance, the AI might trade the player but keep the manager. So, although you can currently turn a player into a player-manager, you probably wouldn't want to.

In my EBL vs MLB league I have like 10 player-MGRS. Almost every season I have to manually rehire the MGR after he was fired since he is still a star player on the team. The way I make him into a MGR is retire him, turn into coach, unretire him place him back on the team. Get;s annoying. I also hate having real player-mgrs like Cap Anson play on the Cubs but managing the Giants
