Question Has anyone played Puresim Baseball? The new update? Does it compare favorably-OOTP5

My questions is: Does anybody on this board favor OOTP5 heavily over PureSim? Can you give me some good reasons as to why I should spend my limited free time playing OOTP5 over PureSim?

Thanks for any help.

They are both good but VERY different games. I've played both and although I'm sure my opinion is bias I like the "in game" control that OOTP affords, the customization and the ability to play in online leagues. PS is strictly solo and currently offers little in game.

I'm sure that both games will continue the high level of support and development. Just my 1/2 cent.

i tried puresim for the hell of it, and didn't like not having control of the "game" itself.

You both are right
I am the CAT, I still get traffic, amazing, but XP is killing BBpro.
Did'nt know I was that well known

There are still a few bbpro leagues out there, although a few listed on my site did make the switch, and an owner is our league is working on a converter from BBpro to OOTP something that a saw on an old thread mentioned that it was tried but apparently junked.

Glad you liked the site

And I was stubborn
I am actually working on a ratings calculator inspired by OOTP and a VB pb.ini editor that works in excel. I did put together a roster set (with a little help from GEFORCE for stat info I should thank him But got consistently frustrated by not being able to put in a DI rating which would have helped greatly

But OOTP has been creeping in and stealing some of my time

Programming all those lines are hard!!!!

Wow, I remember reading through that thread before I bought OOTP. I started out thinking, "Hot dog! Maybe I can convert the 20-25 FPS leagues I've got sitting around in .zip files!". I ended up thinking, "I wonder if I could do that in Excel," but never tried to.

Keep us posted on your owner's progress!

And I still visit your site, you might know me as "Anonymous."

Well, it's a little better off than it was last time I tried it for OOTP4. However, I've had very little time to be working on it. The main problem is there is still a ton of manual labor involved for players with little to no stat history, or a stat history that belies their ratings. However, guys that have a few seasons of consistent stats come out really good. If I remember correctly, I even had it figured out how to get the correct fielding assignments for them!

Thinking about this is making me want to go back and work on it

If a link does not work, try replacing "400softwarestudios" with "ootpdevelopments" and it should work.

I would think that players without much stat history could just be converted on a "ratings only" basis, they'd come out like prosepcts...
