ML teams in historical replays

I wasn't exactly sure where to place this question, but is there a way to mod OOTP 15 so that the correct minor leagues affiliate team names are used? I'm playing as the 2002 Tigers, and their AAA team should be the Toledo Mudhens but they are called the Madison Blues. Is there any sort of mod file that would correct this for any year that one would want to replay?

No, it's not possible. Unfortunately, OOTP doesn't support historical minor leagues.

Thanks. I figured as much, just wasn't sure if I was overlooking something.

go to wikipedia, search 2002 Detroit Tigers and on the bottom it will show their minor league affiliates, to help you enter them manually, then skip to each team in the standings section

or go to baseball reference, leagues and year, choose the league and it will show the affiliation for each level

Part of the reason why this is problematic to implement is that before the 60s there was quit a bit of difference in the way individual major league teams operated their minor league systems. Going back to the 30s, for instance, I was doing historically accurate minor leagues down to the C levels and in 1937 the Cardinals and Yankees had 11 teams each (yes, 11!) while the Phillies had zero and another team (the Senators, perhaps?) had just one. If you want to make that kind of thing really work, not only do you have to monkey around with the minors, you have to play with your amateur draft (or not draft altogether, although that doesn't necessarily fix this issue - my "fix" was to write a program that randomly re-assigned draft picks for every round based on how many new players each team needed to bring in to properly restock its system and an overall "farm system quality" rating that allowed some teams to have a higher chance of getting top prospects than others). The AI also doesn't seem to handle massive disparities in minor league talent, either; my experience is that if you don't also control ML transactions after you've set up an asymmetrical minor league system, you get weird results. The teams with the best minor league systems actually perform *worse* than everyone else because the game keeps trading off star players in their prime when it feels that it has adequate backups.

And then the game doesn't really have a way where you can tell it "okay, I may have 2 separate AAA clubs right now, but I would like you to treat the Newark Bears as my #1 AAA team and the Oakland Oaks as my #2." OOTP *will* prioritize teams, but it won't let you choose who takes what priority.

Which, granted, doesn't really apply to 2002. But if you're going to implement this stuff, how far back *do* you take it?
