It did let me play my second season to end though. But right after june 30th it crashes.

The problem with crashes in older saves is that, while the problem causing the crash is likely fixed in the new patch, the damage has already been done to the save and often isn't something that's possible to fix. That's likely what's happening here, so you may need to re-start the game.

The roster update would have no effect on old saves, it only affects new games.

I bought this game back when it was in beta. I read the horror stories on here, so essentially didn't even attempt to play a game until now. (Because of latest patch)

Just played my very first game of the season. After the game, I clicked on waivers to see if I could cheaply fill a hole - thinking beginning of season would be a good time to take advantage of salary crunched teams.

This is what I see:



Pretty disappointing.

Obviously, this shouldn't happen. I go to LA's team finances to see what's up. They were indeed over the cap, but this is ridiculous. They waiver 4 stars players and plus 5 other regulars. Not one of those players were claimed on waivers (obviously they'd be claimed IRL), and then they were sent to the AHL. Now, this makes very little sense in the new CBA because if it was a salary issue, sending to the AHL no longer relieves teams of the salary cap hit.

This is a normal game started with the latest patch. About as generic as you could get. Nothing tweaked.

Stuff like this ruins the entire integrity of a SIM, and essentially forced me to turn off the game after game 1.

If I'm missing something, please advise. Thanks.

It's explained in the first section of the patch notes, but briefly: starting with the March 5 rosters (which in real life are assembled via saved cap space and long-term injured reserve exemptions) puts several teams far above the cap, by a much greater extent than they can quickly adapt to. They try to adjust, but for various reasons the only immediate solution for some of them is sending a large number of players to the minors to get under the cap until they can make deals to free up space. The teams do manage to adapt within a few weeks, so the guys sent to the minors will typically only play a handful of games there.

If you don't want to see that happen, it can be avoided by starting with the Opening Night rosters, which are all cap-compatible.

i dont know if this has been posted but when i start a new game and make a few trades with draft picks at the start of the season a few weeks later i have all my draft picks back even tho i have traded them to other teams for players

just noticed why it happend haha when you go into edit league and when you save you get all your draft picks back

Tried 5 different games in regular mode while waiting for the historical draft hotfix and unfortunately the game always crashes on Jan 12th, 2014.
Anybody else ran into that bug?

Edit:
Set up 2 new test seasons with the Pens (opening day rosters & trade deadline rosters), set all controls to assistant and both seasons passed Jan 12th 2014 w/o any problems.
Maybe the saved game is corrupted or damaged - if you check it i´d appreciate any info or update on that.....thx guys

Got my hands on FHM after the patch..it looks much better indeed. But i have an issue..I can't change tactics..Whenever i try(during a game or after)tactics change back to a default i have not set instantly..Thanks

What league and team are you playing with? Did you hire a head coach? That will result in the tactics getting changed, even if you don't have have them set to AI control.

Sorry about that..Did not check the forums properly before my question.Fired the head coach & took control..By the way FHM seems way better after the last patch.Player development reports each month & the new scouting system are great features.

can´t get past November 11th - 1st season .... game always crashes, no matter what i do

any ETA on the hotfix as i run into glitches in every mode i´m playing ?

We'd really need to see a save to figure out what's going wrong there - there's nothing unusual that happens on that date that could be the source of a crash, so it's likely some unique roster/transaction issue.
