Preseason prediction different for each manager?

A friend and I are running an online league with just him and I in it. We are getting ready to start our first season and have noticed that his preseason predictions report isn't the same as my preseason prediction report. Has anyone ran across this before? I don't understand how this happens since we are running off of the same files.

Interesting. Did you both run them at the same time?

I figured they automatically got ran at some point during the season. Do they only get ran when you click on the report for the first time?

It's a little funky, to me, to be honest. When it's set to On Demand, I'd like to think you could run it whenever you want, but it doesn't seem to work that way. If it's set to Automatic, it runs either Opening Day or right after Spring Training, I don't remember which. I've been able to run it during ST and then again at the end of ST, but after that, On Demand seems to mean nothing.

I'm pretty positive that On Demand means it won't run until you click on it. I tend to run it at the very end of Spring Training, once all the rosters have been sorted out.

On Demand - only runs when done manually. Can only be done manually from beginning to end of ST. Can only be done once manually during this period. (See explanation below)

Automatic - runs automatically on Opening Day.

You can run it manually as many times as you want during ST, but will always be the same as the first time you ran it. ie: If I run it Mar 3 (hypothetical date that ST starts) then run it again Mar 17 (mid way through ST) the result still shows the same as when I ran it Mar 3.

Running it manually again on opening day will show new result for the regular season. This would be the same as setting it to automatic.

If you like Preseason predictions, set it to automatic. The result you get during ST is not accurate. Your roster has more than the 25 man opening day roster.

There's a thread here somewhere from not too long ago that has a long discussion on what OOTP does when it makes the predictions. It runs a season long background sim based on your roster. I think it runs 2 or 3 times, can't remember.

Here's the thread - http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...edictions.html

Clarify for me. Did you run one instance of the pre-season predictions centrally, or did each of you run a pre-season prediction locally?

If the latter is true then the result should be expected, i.e. different simulations will produce different results. If it is the former then we need screenshots to see the different results.

The report is set to run automatically in my league. I'm running as commish using the automator to sim and then upload to the server. I would assume in this scenario that the report is being run automatically before opening day and that both myself and the other human GM would be seeing the same report.

Not a big deal, just thought it was weird that we were seeing different things in this situation.
