Do you even know that we have a separate newbie forum? Do you care if newbie threads or graphics/mods threads are in the correct forum? Do you understand that having threads in the appropriate forum ensures that the people who visit that forum specifically to respond to those kinds of threads and answer those questions may never see them otherwise, and neither will other newbies or graphics/mods users looking for answers to newbie or graphics/mods questions that may have already been asked and answered? No, all you see is an online fight that you can ignorantly pick in an attempt to try to make yourself somehow look noble. /fail

And I don't care how people like you see me, and never will.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

As David Watts said, definitely try the demo.

Also spend some time reading the online manual, which although it isn't quite complete, covers the big stuff.

Out of the Park Baseball Manual

If you're "brand new" to baseball -- I take it you mean the sport in general, not baseball sims or video games (?) -- OOTP is apt to feel pretty overwhelming. And even that is probably an understatement. The game is simply enormous -- the depth and customizability are amazing. But if you're a beginner, you can ignore 90% of it and use features like the nifty "Game Creation Wizard" to get you up and running in fairly short order.

So hey, why not give it a try -- the learning curve is steep, no doubt about it. But with patience you may find you really love the game.

As Clemenceau said, the OOTP forum is too important to be left to the forum members. We need a man who is willing to do what is necessary to keep the forum pure...and keep out those who attempt to infiltrate the wrong forum with their silly and ignorant questions. And, of course, we also need a man willing to beatdown anyone asking questions about the release date.

Luckily, we have that man with you. I salute you!

I'm torn between telling you to knock it off so as to stop fueling the fire, or egging you on until he does something truly egregious that we can report.

Please don't tell him to knock it off. His posts have been hilarious and the fact that The Wolf responds makes it all the more funny.

I'm thoroughly enjoying it, and I can only see half the conversation.

I had this same problem two months ago, with OOTP14.

I wouldn't trade these two months of OOTP14 for anything.

TlDR: This game is great, get started as soon as you can so you learn as much as possible and have fun.

PROTIP: OOTP15 will be on sale at all-star break, IF you can wait that long.
