Um. So the A's want to get a short term (2 year) lease with Oakland because they really want out of that building. The city of Oakland wants them to sign a longer lease.
Here's where it gets weird. MLB is siding with the A's on this one and may force S.F. to take the A's for a couple seasons. If I were a betting man, the A's are gonna play in Oakland the next 2 years, but it's interesting the league is siding with the A's when they clearly aren't making it easy for them to move to where they want to go. Considering if the A's do play in S.F. for 2 years, I guess the A's will be paying rent to the city of S.F. and the Giants, so it's yet another way the Giants screw the A's.
