Technically 1 out of 5 at this point as CY would have to clear waivers.

It seems like just a week ago that the A's were up 6 games in the standings and now it's 2. I mostly blame the Angels for allowing three walkoffs against the Rangers, but the A's offense really needs to kick it into gear soon.

Also, I'm pleased to see that they weren't afraid to send Milone down to AAA. He has his good moments but don't most pitchers? He's so meh. I hope we see Gray or Anderson make a start for the A's before Milone.

I understand why they sent down Milone, he's been very inconsistent this year. But Josh Reddick has been awful this year. Awwww-ful. When are his ABs getting taken away?

-Edit: Maybe he needs to shave the beard.

Yeah good point. But at least when he's not hitting, he is still playing good defense. That counts for something, but you hate to see RF as a black hole in the lineup.

Time to shave the beard and shave the head.

MLB has a bug in it's software. Teams just don't claim a player then waive him, just to pick him up a few days later then waive him again. Marcus, fix baseball.

Josh Reddick the Canada version disagrees.

Sheesh. That Chris Young blast in the 9th looked like it hit the foul poll. Was it just me or did other people feel the same way?

About the beard or him being awful this year? I hope you're talking about the beard.

Well Sonny Gray had himself an impressive Coliseum debut. 8 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 9 K, 1 BB. I know it was against the Astros but he looks pretty damn good.

On the bright side, the A's still have one of the Wild Card spots.

But yes, the A's are playing like poop.

And it's hard to point to just one thing that needs improvement. It's like we're doing just enough to loose. Somedays we don't hit. Somedays we get a lot of people on and can't drive them in. Somedays we can't catch, and the rest we have bad pitching. BAH!

BAH! I say.

At least we don't have a lack of talent. Don't get me wrong, we're not the most talented group of players. But at least we can't say: They're young and unknown, we don't expect them to win now. I expect them to play better than this.

I was blacked out from seeing the game today, but was watching on Gameday. Once the game is archived though I'll have to watch the 8th and 9th. Great stuff and must-win game for the A's.

Bleh. You guys took one off the Cats, 8-6. The next 3 are ours, mark my words.

Just to help you guys out, from the Detroit Tigers thread:

Next game: Tuesday, Oakland (73-57, 34-32 away) @ Detroit (77-54, 41-24 home), 7:08 Eastern (4:08 Pacific).

Oakland TV: CSNCA. Radio: 95.7 FM The Game.
Detroit TV: FS-D. Radio: 97.1 The Ticket.

Probables: Milone (9-9, 4.30 ERA) vs. Verlander (12-9, 3.68 ERA).

Let the trash talking commence!
