San Jose is suing MLB for dragging it's feet on the proposed move. SJ is the underdog in the court battle, but if they win it would cause havoc for baseball. Someone needed to force the Giants/MLB to resolve this, lets hope that this gets to the end quickly.

4 out of 5 against Cincy and St. Louis. Not bad at all.

It was nice to beat 2 of 3 from Matt Holliday. I don't even see the St. Louis birds anymore. They're the Hollidays.

Big week coming up, with a road series at Pittsburgh and then home with the Red Sox for the last two series before the All Star break. Would be nice to head into the break by finishing the first half strong. 3-3 at minimum would get the A's to 55 wins with 67 games to play.

Also, Grant Green is coming up. No corresponding move yet but I'm guessing it'll be a pitcher sent down or Adam Rosales DFA. He'll take over Rosales's role. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do at the big league level.

Grant Green to join A?s in Pittsburgh tomorrow, sources say | Oakland Athletics : The Drumbeat | an SFGate.com blog

I'm pretty sure Rosales will go Bye-Bye. He hasn't done much. And Green is right handed, which fits in with the existing Rosales/Dr. Specticals platoon.

Oh, and am I the only one who calls Sogard Dr. Specticals?

Indeed it was Rosales DFA.

Dr. Specticals - I like it and might start using it.

It's kinda hard to fathom how well the Bucs are doing this year. I guess it's how the rest of the league was looking at us in Aug/Sept of last year. But with "ole' pants model" on the mound, we take the first game.

Big assist from Coco. That catch in the 7th was ballgame!

So now Sonny Gray is coming up after dominating AAA for the first half of the season. Word is he'll pitch out of the bullpen for now, which I think is kind of odd. But, I wonder if they are expecting another Colon suspension over Biogenesis, and they're just wanting Sonny to come up and shake the nerves before he gets into the rotation full time....

If I were the A's, I'd be worried about another Colon suspension. He can still hit 94 on the gun, which he couldn't do in 2011. But MLB would have to determine if it's a second offense, as opposed to just more evidence on the suspension that he already had.

On a more optimistic note, Gray might be ready for the promotion. It would be nice to know for sure so we can adjust accordingly before the trade deadline.

Good point, probably another reason for the callup now.

Six series wins in a row, including over the team with the best record in baseball. Going into the second half with a two game lead in the AL West.

It's nice to be both flying under the radar and leading the division.

It's only been three games, but Grant Green is 0-for-9 with 5 K's since coming up. You have to think the next two weeks we'll be shopping for a 2B or SS (Lowrie would move to 2B if a SS is acquired).

Cespedes sits with left wrist soreness

Be very afraid. No checked swings.

Well last night was awful!

But Cespedes is back in the lineup today, batting 5th and playing LF.

It was my wife's fault. I was watching the game and she checked up on me in the top of the 9th. Upon seeing the 4-2 score, she said that there was no chance the Astros come back.

I knew right then we were gonna loose.

3 of 4 from the halos and 6 games ahead in the division. WTH. I thought the A's would continue to be good this year, but I wouldn't have guessed '6 games ahead in late July' good.

Granted, it's partly because the Angels have not met any of their expectations. But still... it's good to be on the top.

The A's all stars will be: Cespedes, Jaso, & Parker.
Donaldson prediction looks good. He's on pace for exactly 25.

Milone prediction looks bad. Colon would have to be suspended or hurt and still Milone would have to get real hot.

Reddick never cut his beard, but he did go from wild to trimmed facial hair. And he did start out in a slump. He never quite got hot though. The prediction mostly did not work out for me there.

The A's all starts were Colon & Balfour. So no go on that one, either.
