ok i was able to hear from them and you still dont understand my problem so im trying to explain it to you. first are you actually reading my emails carefully because i dont think you are. when i purchased the game on sunday i did get my license to open the game which i did. now what happend was i had to restore my computer to the day before because i was having a problem with a program that wasnt closin when i restored my computer to fix the problem it also brought me back to the original software in the game before i purchased the license. when this happend i was not able to open the game because it was back to the point before i purchased the game. so now i need to install my order id number in order to open the game. since the company viatech never sent me any reciet i didnt have a order number. so the mistake was not in me not getting a licensed game but the mistake was never been givin a order number so i could have it in case i had to reinstall the license which i had to.

Now that was interesting.
I had a registration problem, but it was my PC it was blocking new programs from web access.
Once I reformatted and did not download freakware and kept my firewall inplace I had no problems reinstalling the game.

??? Something doesn't jive here...

Did this happen while you were at the car wash? Did your dad have anything to do with the reinstallation?

So, basically you had your order I.D. and lost it because you restored your computer. This is not .400 software studio's fault, it is yours. You should have written it down before restoring your computer. As it is now, you will have to contact Via Tech to get your license number, which has been stated numerous times in above posts.

ok just let you know that i did get my order number and did get to open the game. i will now decide on a refund or not im not sure about this game since i had all these problems in just getting it. if this company viatech just did what they were supose to do and just sent me my order number this never would of happend. also if you include the web site for the message forum and the information on how to get historical teams when you make your purchase that would be helpful also.

I know, you've said this and I understand what you are saying. To run the game before you had a license, which you say you had. This would put the eLicense software on your computer and in your Control Panel (which I've mentioned several times). The eLicense software isn't automatically removed when you uninstall the game, so since you got a license the first time, it still should be there. In this folder you can find a copy of your receipt and on the receipt you'll find your Order ID, which you can enter to get your license and be ready to go.

If you run into problems finding this let me know and I will continue to try and help you.

If for somereason you don't have that eLicense Control you'll need to contact Via Tech to have your receipt resent.

You didn't have problems getting it, you stated yourself that you had it and it was working before restoring your computer. It is your own stupidity that caused your original problem, which you compounded by posting in a rambling/insulting manner.

Maybe I'm just looking for the good in people, but perhaps English is not this person's first language. It might explain some of the problems he is having with regards to posting and getting the game to work?

OK, so let me get this straight. For your first ten or so posts in this thread, you claimed that you were never sent your Order ID when you bought the game?

And now you're saying that you actually did get, and then through something you did with your computer, you lost the number?

And this is not your fault, why?

You say you had the game up and running on Sunday? Didn't you have to input your number the first time you loaded the game for it to work? I know I did.

If you did enter the number the first time you should have a copy of the receipt in your ootp5 folder.

MY computer\ c:\program files\ 400 softwarestudios\ootp5

double click on the reciept icon and your order id will be there.

If it's not there because for some reason the restore deleted it then contacting viatech is the only way to get it. Just think if you had contacted viatech, which would have probably taken about 5% of the time you've wasted posting here, you would already be up and running.

Time to grow up and know when someone is trying to help you and then be gracious enough to just say thanks.

Another way to get the receipt (that I completely forgot about).

Find the OOTP5 icon, right click on it.
Go to eLicense Control and a menu will pop out the right-hand side.
Go to Product Receipt.

Your Order ID is on the receipt.

Wow.

Scott has wonderful resources for compassion and patience.

I'm impressed

The information you (rmilin11) seek is all at... http://ootp5.com/ , which, if you think about it, makes sense!

The acceptance of personal responsibility is the first step towards recovery.

Guys. Please leave him alone, you're not helping things. The more time he has to spend reading replies that inflame him, the more likely he is to miss anything that might help him, should he truly wish for help. So just leave it be. I'm leaving the thread open with the idea to continue to try and help, but if you don't have anything constructive to add to the conversation please stay out of it.

the reason why its not my fault is because sometimes you have to restore your computer to correct a mistake in a program. if viatech just sent me the order number like they are supose to then this wouldnt have been a problem for me because when i tried to open the game i would of just went to my emails and got the id number but since they never sent it i couldnt do that. then when i asked for help i was first given a web site. i had no ideal who to write to and what information to give them. then i was finally given a email address for viatech which then i was able to contact them and finally get the id number that i should of recieved in the first place. as for getting the id number off my computer since i restored my computer to before i purchased the game i didnt have that information anymore since according to the program i never made any purchase.

how come nobody is saying anything about viatech. you like to critizise me but if viatech did there job this never would of been a issue. also im amazed that no matter how many times i mention that when i restored my computer it brought the gamre to the point before i made the purchase you still insist that i would have the order number information on my computer if i had that then the game would of worked in the first place.

Well, now that you can play, here's to hoping you enjoy it enough to keep, if not become obsessed like the group on this board!

rmilin, in Scott's defense, he gave you an email in the 5th reply to this thread before this thread even reached half a page.
