Impact of Height and Weight and Travel

Does height an weight have any impact on a
Player? I found this old post from several years ago nothing recent that say otherwise. Any ways if have a pitcher that is 7'2 with middle of the pack talents will he actually be better because of his height? Will a player that is heavier be automatically slower? Get have more power?

I'd love to hear more about this, also. I read in an older forum post that taller pitchers are more likely to succeed, so I've been more or less blindly picking taller pitching prospects towards the end of the draft. No idea if this actually pans out or not.

Markus has cited data that pitchers under 5'11" (I think) are less likely to succeed. That is in the game.

Previously there were references to BMI as having some influence.

That's all I have.

Does this include player created pitchers if you do not touch their potential and overall in the editor? I have several players coming in next year that are all under 5'9 the shortest being a 4'10 1B. Now I do edit his stats so hitting he will be fine, defense I usually leave alone after I 1st set it up and I want him to be a poor defensive 1B. A SP on that team is 5'6 and has the best Screwball of all time. Also in a previous game (TLR3) he had a 0.96 ERA in 313 IP with 375K.
I have been looking at top draftees and their height to determine how much of a factor height is in OOTP. I know Markus? said that 1B would be affected by height in 14. That a Tony Clark type player would be a better 1B then say a Dustin Pedoria type player.

Ok so far it looks like height and weight does have impact but there is still not hard evidence. Where did Markus say this things?

I'd love to see that 7'2" pitcher manage to get the ball down into the strike zone. He'd also have a helluva time fielding bunts.

Here is one quote with Markus talking about Height:

Height and weight are correlated with certain skills in the game, when players are created, so players should "look right" - power hitters are heavier than speedsters, for example. And weight changes accompany skill changes - increases in weight accompany declines in defensive ability, for example. But besides the impact of height on pitcher stamina, I'm not sure there are other direct influences on the game. That is, if you create a new player, and make him 9 feet tall, he'll play the same as a 4 foot tall guy with the same ratings.

edit - oh, there's one other exception for sure. In OOTP14, as part of the new defensive model, player height has a direct impact on a player's ability to field at 1B.

Height and weight do matter, more so height in a pitcher. A lot of scouts look for taller pitchers because they have lower fly ball tendencies and thus give up less home runs. Markus directly related height to stamina as well. For example, Royals prospect Yordano Ventura is an electric arm but a lot of scouts are wary if he can end up starting because he's not even 6 feet tall, and gives up his fair share of home runs.

Weight affects speed, obviously. Doesn't take an OOTP addict to figure that one out.

I plan on employing 9-foot tall 2B/SS combination to have them snare those line drives into the gaps.

Later on in my league I will have Kuala Lumpar a 7'5 Wookie. While he is mostly a MR and CL he will suck on defense.

Argentina and Chile are the 2B & SS for the 2041 Chewbacca Bowcasters but they are only 6'10 & 7'0.

Impact on Height, Weight and Travel

Ok so one league with two sub-leagues on in Canada and one in Australia will travel have impact on the players since that's a pretty long flight lets say from Toronto to Sidney?

I had a 6'9 1B one time that despite having a very high Eye rating never seemed to draw too many walks.
