To me, you're better off continuing old saved games on previous versions and using the new versions of the software to create newer saved games.

People forget that the vast majority of products won't even allow you to convert a saved game from the previous version to the current one, let alone allow you to convert across seven years of the product.

Is it one single ML league? This EBL vs MLB is the only league I have had problems with on each version. It is also the only reason i bought OOTP 11 and the only reason i continue to play OOTP. This league has 4 leagues and i am beginning to think that maybe I only have problems with it when I introduce the 4th league whether its the *** or the ABL. I have far fewer problems with it with MLB + 2 fictional leagues. But I add a league when a player I have stats for starts. So in 2007 I add the ABL when a player who is later a HOFer in the EBL starts. in 2009 I add the *** which I have several great players come from and 3 future EBL managers. Maybe I will try an earlier version that has yet to introduce the ABL.(Australia)
I converted my 1871-2010 league fine from 11 to 12 to 13 before deleting the league 2 weeks ago. I was in 1928. My ABF seems to have no problems so far I converted at the ASG of 2010 also a game that was started on 11. My Top 25 team is fine after 3 games on 14 started on 13. & my 1983 Winning Ugly Sox team is fine after starting in 13.
So why is it always this one league that has fictional nations/cities?

Yes, but the point is that there is no game that can support conversions across that many versions without possible problems. Your conversion worked, and others have as well, but many others have encountered problems. And that's to be expected because they're asking for something that they're lucky OOTP even attempts to do and can support successfully in some cases. I challenge them to find any other game that does the same.

Ok i have screenshots above that differ from this one but this is from my original conversion, that is showing the 2008 stats. This has been one crappy day. Gonna look at this more after Falling Skies.

Fictional MLB with three levels of minors based on a template from somebody on the forum.

Thats how my aBF is, and I have never had a conversion problem.

Ok so I have been playing the EBL vs MLB both on 13 & 14. I last complained during the Glenbard Series as you can see from my last post. I simmed to the 3rd game of the Rock City series, where i left off on 13. No problems on Roster Overview, Lineups or Pitching screens. As of the bot 2nd of the Rockies game no problems. If I dont edit this after the game that means I do not have the issue at this time any longer. I am so confused why I had the problem pop up yet Endgame, Kev24fan and 2 others could not recreate the issue, yet I had it for 2 games.
I'll either be back in 20 mins or in 3 days.

I have loaded your league files and here is the issue: Your game has several different leagues, and not all are in the same league state and league year, the Australian league for example is still in the offseason and hence in 2007 internally. Now, in certain places the game per default looks for the primary (best) league when determining what to display... it's hard to explain but it is necessary. Anyway, in your case this happens to be the Australian league, hence the game displays the previous year stats since that league is still in 2007.

But, there is an easy way to get around this, simply select your current league in the "Scope" menu of the player list. Hope that helps.

Also, you have Lando Calrissian and Han Solo playing for Endor, which would never happen in real life. Sure, the AI only knows ratings, but it's not freaking blind.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

So this is not a bug, and I'm glad that it could be resolved for The Game. But it's also a microcosm of what is often the case when people encounter problems with their leagues: usually it's a problem with a corrupted file, files that have been modified, or the user doing something highly unusual and pushing the limits of what the game can support.

In this case, it was the latter, though the good news is that the game can support it, and it only requires a shift in scope to correct the statistical views. But obviously this saved game was far different from the standard leagues that most users implement.

Glad the OP had his issue resolved and that it ends up not being a bug.

I only play only one game\league and that was started in v4 (2002). The game import is rock solid. Markus is to be commended for his design allowing this feature.

The only issue I ever had that made me restart a season (had to replay ~27 games) was with the 2006 total rewrite when OOTP moved to SI. IIRC all CF did not receive a rating for CF on import. It was fixed in the first patch.

Due to the total rewrite of 2006 there were understandably some things that were lost. Some league history (standings, champions, and maybe some other things?) did not all come in. I have my v6.5 and before almanacs that I can look these up in when I get the urge.

The player text history as shown on each player card did not import. However a user (Comedian I believe?) made a utility that moved the text history for every player into v2006. A great tool and much appreciated.

The batter\pitcher season to season stats did come forward for the MLB level without issue. Minor league stats did not. For me this was acceptable considering Markus was moving to a totally rewritten game.

As I recall these "little" things are all that didn't import into the total rewrite. Really amazing to me that Markus was able to do this with a totally "new" game.

EVERY import I made from v4 to v6.5 and EVERY import I have made from v2006 to v14 have been rock solid. FWIW I don't run a complicated league. A simple MLB, AAA, AA, A, SA, RA, with feeders from college and high school.

There are many things I love about OOTP. Importing from version to version is the number one reason I buy OOTP every year.

Markus confirmed what I was thinking. That one of the other leagues in this case the ABL might be why i was having problems. In each conversion I tend to convert when i get to 2008 or 2009, then i usually mess up having to start all over again at 2003 on a new version. I backup my league 2-3 times per season for this version of it.
Luke Skywalker also plays for EC but he is injured. Chewbacca's home planet is Kashyyyk and played 1B for EC in 2003 (clone of Matt Stairs). Ewoks are not slaves and have their own team next year.

Since this thread has many people looking at it. can someone tell me how to edit skin files? I want to try to do team color skins if i can figure it out.
