Do you mean league totals (stat output)? Not sure there would be any discernible effect. League output has many variables acting on it; injuries, player development both plus and minus, streaks and random luck. The various rates of occurrence are distributed amongst those who play.

Last year the Reds had 3 pitchers make 33 starts, 1 make 32 starts and 1 make 30 starts. The only time they had someone other than those 5 make a start was because of a doubleheader (I was at the 2nd game - not pretty).

That is quite unusual. Look at the two seasons before and you will see that they only had two starters with 30. Again, I took random years and they all only had 1-3 pitchers with 30 or more starts.

Oh, I know. I just thought it was quite an accomplishment, and I'm still bitter that I was at the game where Todd Redmond started (the only other pitcher to start for them last season).

Todd Who????? Yeah it was quite an accomplishment to have the 5 guys over 30 starts. It is a stat that should be noted in OOTP. Something like league leaders or team leaders. I looked at my OOTP teams and I can get 4 starters over 30 but can never get a 5th. Usually I have two pitchers split that number 5 slot or get a pitcher injured for a period of time. I would like to thank PSUColonel for startring this thread. It gave me an opportunity to look on how the game plays the 5 man rotation compared to real life. |

Teams only start a 6th pitcher when they have to, whether its due to injury, ineffectiveness, or a trade. This is true in both real life and in OOTP. |
