If it makes anybody feel any better....I withdraw my request.
But please take heed of what I'm about to say: Yes, I do find it not only unfair but disturbing when one person asks for something today and get's their request fulfilled tomorrow when another person kindly asks for something 3 or 4 days prior and is pushed aside for whatever excuse in an unbecoming manner. I've been paying very close attention to this forum and have seen others get bumped ahead of my request. You two guys (cephasjames and txranger) need to re-read my posts in this thread: I've tried kindly bumping the thread and kindly asked if anyone was even going to fulfill the request. What was the end result, huh? NOTHING. NADA. ZILCH. ZERO. If you needed anything specific to fulfill my request, then why didn't you just ask?

As one of my favorite pro wrestlers, Rob Van Dam, might say..."Duuuuuude! Why all the hostility?"
![]() You have to understand, requests are...kinda iffy. Especially ones for multiple uniforms. I've seen those go only partially, if at all, fulfilled. And it's your job to give all the details, not the person you want to do them's job. What I'm saying is, sometimes people get busy with other stuff. Silvam's been kinda busy, and I haven't seen Gern around much the last few days...but it's nothing personal, I'm sure. So don't make it that way! Tell you what, I'm making a Redbirds jersey, so I'll make a modern style home & away set of them for you. Other stuff...maybe I'll give it a try in the next few days if nobody else does. Relax, man! Patience! I think we Cardinal fans are just an overly-sensitive bunch. I blame Don Denkinger.

Yes, I do know that requests are iffy. I know my profile says otherwise but I've been around the OOTP forums since the days of OOTP 6. I've seen many requests go unfulfilled and yet others get fulfilled. As far as responsibility goes, its a two-way street. Yes, the asker should provide as much detail as possible. However, it is the responsibility of the person fulfilling the request to have the decency to ask vital questions if the asker hasn't provided enough critical information. Yes, I do get it that some people get tied up doing other things. Heck, I've been there done that myself. However, as I said, I volunteer in Tech Support here and we always take the time necessary to address customer issues. Even if we can't look into the customer's issue right away, we at least provide that customer with an acknowledgement and a legitimate explanation. It's the same way here in the mod forums (or at least it should be). Except I'm the customer inquiring about your product (logos, caps and/or jerseys). In all fairness, is it polite to leave a customer hanging for 3, 4 or some odd or even days? I don't think so. I would tend to think the customer would have a right to get a little cranky. "Tell you what, I'm making a Redbirds jersey, so I'll make a modern style home & away set of them for you. Other stuff...maybe I'll give it a try in the next few days if nobody else does." That's an offer I'd have to be totally off my rockers to refuse. However, please let me say this: why on Earth did it take 4 days for someone....anyone...so say something along those lines? I'm not trying to be a smartass but instead trying to drive a point. Clarification: I know it sounds like I do but I honestly don't have any resentment towards cephasjames nor at txranger. To describe the job they do with one word to me is an injustice. I can't possibly thank them enough for all the contributions. The very same goes for you and silvam14 and Gern and others.

You may volunteer your time to this game, but you do it in an area that is essentially required of the game company (and you don't like it when you feel disrespected over a necessary part of the game). But the people on this forum volunteer their time for an non-required, unnecessary part of the game (and yet you are disrespectful to them in a manner that you would consider wrong if it were directed at you). There are no "customer's rights" in this forum. No one here has to do anything. Those who do do so because they find enjoyment in the hobby of creating graphics for a wonderful game and a wonderful community (mostly). Your attempted apologies earlier in the thread would've been a good place for you to let this "nobody loves me and wants to help me" anger-fest go. You are burning bridges with your arrogant expectations (and this is not the first time the OOTPD forums has seen you do this). If people want to help you they will, in their time, in their manner. Let them do it their way, please, or move on. I am now finished with you because you have burned this bridge with me.

Road Jerseys Needed
Well, I'm not a vintage jersey guy so I saw and ignored this thread for that reason.
With that said, this conversation pains me, but thankfully it doesn't happen often here. I check the forum when I can, and I do the requests that I feel I can complete in a timely manner and also feel comfortable with the style being requested. Real life gets in the way for us modders from time to time. I don't know about everyone else, but summertime with two young boys tends to keep a dad away from his computer more than the winter. That's all I'm going to say 'bout that

Bowtie, I blame myself for the hostility towards you. I was trying to be helpful and trying to find the road jerseys you needed. When I realized that many of the uniforms you needed/wanted had to be made I stopped responding, but I feel that many of the mods ignored this thread because I continued to respond so perhaps they thought the request was being fulfilled.
As towards your anger at having to wait 4+ days for a request, chill. Gern made about 8 of 12 uniforms in the 1st week or 2 of a thread and hasnt made any since. I bumped on that thread a week or 2 ago and will bump it again in another week or 2. He has filled so many of my requests over the last 2.5 years I wasn't trying to rush him. I know he leaves the boards for weeks at a time and has many other requests to fill. I usually make a request years in advance. I am in 2008 in my league and am basically set for uniforms til 2026. I do make refining requests which people like txranger, 70's Guy, fryestorm, Gern and Irrecula have been filling. Did you find what you needed in Silvam or txrangers thread? |

Yowza! Please, stop beating that poor dead horse. I think that's all people are asking from you at this point, although frustration is setting in, most likely. Continuing to beat it with progressively larger weapons will not bring it back to life. But now if you finally stop beating it, you'll at least have dug yourself a hole big enough to bury it in, I suppose. That last post could get you banned on some forums. Since nobody's posted in the last several hours, I'll assume people are tired, and the drama is over.
Anyway, here's your Redbirds jerseys. Big thanks to justafan for the jersey logo. ![]() ![]() "Where were you four days ago?" is not really the best way to get more of 'em made, trust me. Most of what I do is planned in advance, like what was mentioned earlier. All those jerseys in my thread are for the upcoming season, usually started toward the end of the previous season. I didn't really do anything for this thread before now because I don't really tend to do big-league teams jerseys, which is what you wanted in the original post. They've mostly all been done before, most far better than I could do myself anyway. Plus, I'm horribly slow at request of more than one or two jerseys, as others have found out, so I tend to shy away from them. The Game found that out when I took a couple months to do five or so jerseys for him. (To his credit, he never complained, even though he would have had a right to, IMO) For that, I'm sorry, but real life does get in the way. And others have busier lives than I do, I'm sure, so even moreso for them. Part of the reason for the lack of response was probably a case of "Meh, all those have been done before, all he has to do is look around". Not the best response, perhaps, but realistically, probably the main reason for the lack of quick response in your case here. Maybe some links should have been posted, and I'll take my share of the blame for that. But stop taking it so personally. Other posts of the same type have received the same lack of attention. Hopefully, the drama is over on all ends, and we can get back to normal without anybody getting banned. Save the drama for yo' mama, or a llama, or Obama, or whatever the kids are saying nowadays. Thanks for making these Sir. You did one very marvelous job. Kinda feeling pretty bummed right now. I sure am very sorry you and The Game got caught in the middle of this mess.
![]() By the way, if anyone does make the 3 other teams jersey's and caps, if you want to make them for a fictional league, I"ll go along with that. On the other hand, if no-one wants to make these, I can live with that too. I am easy to get along with. Guys, please try to understand that right now, for me, if it wasn't for bad luck I honestly wouldn't have any luck at all. I am honestly sorry for getting rather cranky yesterday.

The people here who are talented enough to do these things and further, are willing to take their own personal time to help others free of charge are a true blessing to all of us. Which requests they choose to act upon or not and how fast or slow they choose to respond is their decision entirely. That's the way free services gaciously offered work.

I'm not trying to be jerk or a migraine headache but will you gentlemen please stop posting what I think is insulting content? Yes, I agree with you, cephas and txranger. And I get what you guys are saying, okay? Some of the content in this thread is IMHO highly insulting to me. Intended or not, you guys keep posting moot points and its getting to the point where its insulting the heck out of me. Please just stop. I am by no means dumb, stupid or ignorant. I'll admit I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. A few people here took an exception to a rant that - in ALL honesty - was not supposed to be posted. Back on page 1, my rant was YES accidentally posted. I had started to edit that post and had stepped away from my computer to attend to my father. When I returned to clear out of the text box what I started typing, it - beyond my control - got posted. I don't know if it was my brother messing around with my computer or whether it may have been one of my pup dogs raring up on my keyboard tray and may have pressed the enter key. Ever since then I have been attacked. I have even posted an apology. Damn it guys stop the nonsense. You're killing me. I feel I'm now owed a public apology. Now don't start saying that I'm demanding one. I'm asking for one. And please stop taking everything I say out of context. That's ridiculous. Yes, I feel as if I have every right to be rather pissed off. I go out of my way to help out in Tech Support, make logos and facegens, help folks out in the forums with issues with their game and I get killed over something that was accidentally posted? Gee willikers, I thought this community was better than that. And in that post which cephasjames quoted, I was just hypothetically speaking. I was not trying to etch any of that in stone. I gracefully will be waiting for that apology. Cheers to all, Bow

In fact I posted my own rant on the same subject in the beta forum a while ago, though I hope and believe it was very moderate and reasonable compared to some of what you've posted. It was after that that silvam jumped in and helped out. So I do understand your frustration, to some extent. That said, what all of the uni makers have posted in this thread is very true. They're donating their time and efforts to make some incredible unis, a very, very large amount of time and effort in fact. So it only makes sense that they focus on what their interests are and fulfill those requests that fit in with their skills and desires. So yeah, the fact that some very specific, silly, whimsical requests get filled quickly while other requests for more realistic jerseys don't get filled is a little frustrating. But it's no reason to be abusive toward people who are making such wonderful stuff and giving freely of their time and energy to do so. Certainly four days isn't long to wait at all. Had you been waiting a year, then maybe your approach would be more understandable, but four days? C'mon, that's just not being very realistic, reasonable, or fair. I know you say that the first rant got accidentally posted, but you've followed that up with several more that were also pretty insulting. As I said, I understand your frustration and have shared it myself. But you must realize that you've gone about expressing it in the wrong way here, targeting the wrong people, and that rather than waiting for apologies you should probably be abjectly offering them. I honestly don't quite understand why you feel some of what's been posted, CONN CHRIS' comments f.e. is insulting to you. It's not. I'm sure that if CC or some of the others who posted here wanted to be insulting they could do so with no holds barred. Considering some of what you've said to them, I actually think they've been quite restrained and moderate in their comments. Honestly you're really the only person that's posted anything that I'd consider insulting in this thread. We know you contribute a lot here, and it's too bad that things have been tough for you lately. I know that feeling too as I'm sure some others here do also. But you could really have dealt with this whole situation a little better, to put it mildly. Maybe it's time to be mending fences, rather than burning bridges. Hope you're willing to do so and that things work out well here and in other areas for you.

Thanks lukasberger. Yes, I really mean that. Yes, I do apologize for posting anything that anyone has found to be insulting. That very honestly wasn't my intent. After that first rant got posted I felt like I was sinking in quicksand. And since then, it to me seemed like things were quickly snowballing on me. And by all means yes, I'd love nothing more than to mend all fences here.
Again, I am sorry. I really need to hear from cephasjames and txranger whether they accept my apology or not.

I don't know if this helps matters or not but I'll still share it with what I do honestly call the Best Damn Community Period! The following is a true story:
Guys, I'm currently being pushed to the super max here on the home front. It all got started in January of 2007 when I lost my mom at the young age of 67. At that time, my dad was still recovering from what turned out to be a triple heart bypass surgery. He was 68 at that time. Since then, my dad has had 2 near fatal bleeding incidents caused by medication. I have had quite a huge challenge just trying to keep him around alone. Factor in trying to keep my older brother on the straight and narrow and trying to take care of myself. One huge combined challenge. Fast forward to now. As I said, I'm being pushed to the super max. I'm being faced in the largest financial burden of my life. Add to that what I've already said about my dad and brother. Things are not going too overly well my way these days. Now add that rant that wasn't supposed to be posted. Wonderful. Just wonderful. I wasn't in the worlds greatest moods the other day and I've been trying to refrain from posting in fear of what has happened in this thread. I never wanted to burn any bridges with anyone in our great community. I'm trying the best I can to deal with life's ups and downs. I'm trying to keep my chin up and a stiff upper lip. I know I'm probably rambling but I thought I would share this with the people I truly call my best friends. Again, to cephasjames, txranger, CC and anyone else that got offended by my insulting rants, I am sorry. In the past day or so, I've seriously thought about taking a hiatus from these forums. I definitely don't want to screw up my reputation here in this community. Please find enough room to accept my apology. It would be very gracefully appreciated. Cheers to all, Bow

How about the 1902-1904 AL Cleveland Blues?
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I do not have the others available (they are NL teams and I haven't started with those yet) but if you want specific years, please take a look at the Hall of Fame Dressed to the Nines site and pick the ones you'd like and I'll start on those. Enjoy!
