USBA Uniforms - A Baseball Universe That Mirrors Baseball History

I'm working on creating my own baseball universe including jerseys, caps and logos. The USBA will be based on real baseball history, basically running parallel to it. For example, in the USBA the Federal League was founded in 1876 and is essentially the National League, with franchises coming and going as they did in real life.

I'll be putting everything I make up here as I make them.

I'd like to thank NoPepper, Deft, Gern, TX Ranger, DC Helper, Silvam, cephasjames, Bobble and everybody else who has contributed all sorts of awesomeness to this game and really allowed everyone to breathe some life into their baseball worlds.

I'll kick this off with the Federal League's inaugural teams in 1876.

Boston Reds, 1876-1882 (based on the Boston Red Stockings)

Very good job with the collars. Did you tweak any of those layers? They look different than what I have.

I had to make the collar layer myself, because I couldn't seem to find a full collar layer I was happy with. It took about 3 hours of tweaking, checking in OOTP, tweaking some more, etc. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

I'll post the layer later on if you'd like.

Really nice work here... IMO it is really difficult to do these pre 1900 styles correctly and make them look good in the game... Good job...

Here's the collar and collar shadow layer. I used a copy Gern's shading layer in these jerseys with the shading on the undershirt section deleted, because it made the collar look funny. Without the shading on that upper portion, the top half of the collar will be lighter so it's important to use a slightly darker shade on the portion of the collar that is part of the undershirt section. I hope I'm making sense here.





On the shading layer I'd set it to "multiply" with an opacity around 60% or something.

EDIT: Looking at the layers now I can see some splotches off in the transparent areas. Shouldn't be a problem, and can be easily erased if you need to.
