amazing, probably the first time I have ever had a request directly put into a game! simple request and hopefully it took only a few minutes to code but its a huge bonus feature to me. The reason I stick with OOTP is all the little things like this, I don't know of any other game where I can create custom baseball cards and put myself in the game with a highly accurate facegen.

Also while I am praising OOTP developments, I would like to ask anyone reading this thread to go to amazon.com and write a review on OOTP13, there are only 3 reviews on there (including mine) and this game deserves many more, people buy games like this from small developers based on reviews so lets give them some support.

Andreas, just to clarify -

If the team uses the same ball cap for home and away, do you need to create two separate files of the same ball cap for home and away, or would it just default to the 'home' ball cap?

I'd like to add a question to this as well. If a team wants to use one home jersey from, say, 1920-2000, but during that time wants to use several away jerseys, 1920-40, 41-78, 79-2000, do we need to have three different copies of the home jersey to coincide with the changes in the away jerseys?

OOTP would always default to the home file. If theres an away jerseys and no away cap, it would use the away jersey and the default cap for the away uniform. If theres an away cap and no away jersey, it would use the away cap and the default jersey for the away uniform. OOTP will use what it gets

No, the jerseys and cap files do not need to coincide. There can be 10 different away jerseys and a single default (home) jersey but 20 default/home caps and 2 away caps. No problem because that are different searches each time.

well

you tricksy bastards, I haven't even finished redoing my ballcap files for v.13 and now I'm going to have to do home/away unis and caps. So much for waiting on v.14!

Also, I feel compelled to tell Markus and Andreas something. If you want to run a real game/software company, I think you need to stop listening to your fans and including things we want in the game. Better to include crap that makes things worse, break features that used to work, and ship half-tested products. It's the key to long-term prosperity

More seriously, I thanked lots of posts here but I really want to thank Andreas and all of you graphics wizards and beta testers that know enough to make intelligent suggestions and crank out the pictures that make the game so cool. All of you, thanks.

I already have all the available major league uniforms, logos and ballcaps from 1901-1913 renamed and ready to go. It's not a perfect set but it's great to start from.

The logos also have the color codes updating as they go through history using this site...

Team Colors - MLB

I haven't uploaded the set anywhere since I haven't got with all the people who did the various uniforms etc.

Any further advancement in the historical jerseys? I'm playing historical and am through 1906. Would love to see the jersey sets get automatically updated. I just went through and updated them all manually from the 1907 folder!

Thanks!

Fellow OOTPers,

The new logo and uniform stuff is great. So since baseball itself goes back sooo long, can we change the default baseball cap and uni to reflect that for free agents and personnel? Also, can we change that awful back hat that everyone defaults to? I remember back in OOTP10 it was at least blue and had some definition.

Continuing with the years past theme, anyone have a clue as to maybe changing the skins to reflect early baseball and then some evolution to the great hi tech game as it stands now?

I'll ask about players and managers another time.

Thanks,

JP

Anything before 1930 I use the classic skin, and I change everything to sepia mode for that skin, so any logos and stuff that were color I converted to sepia in photoshop and saved into the skin folder, looks very retro and significantly different than the other skins. That along with sepia facgen really makes it look like its from the early 1900s.

I do see your point as to the free agent and personel jerseys/caps, I do not know of anyway to change them, but maybe there is a file somewhere that I am unaware of.

I LOVE that away uniforms have been added, as I think it really adds to the immersion factor. However, they are not updating with the "Update/Generate Player Pictures" option in the League Setup menu. They also do not update on January 1st (with that option set). Both of these only update the home pictures. The ONLY way I've found to generate or update the away pictures is to go to each team's "Edit Colors & Uniforms" page and select "Update this team's pictures NOW". With a small league, it's not a huge deal, but with a normal MLB setup, that can take a while to do.

Am I missing something, or is this a bug that needs to be fixed?

Note: I've already posted this in the Bug Report thread as well. I'm hoping somebody important sees it and fixes it.

Sooo...quick dumb question. I've come across instances when the Red-Green-Blue are more than 6 numbers such as 211-182-13. How do you use that in the code?

You can convert RGB values to Hex codes HERE.
