I was browsing through the draft history of one of the AI teams in my fictional league and found something odd. A player drafted from a high school feeder league suffered an injury setback that ended his career after he was drafted but before he actually signed. The AI team signed him to a big bonus and then released him the next day.
Here is the relevant excerpt from his transaction log: Quote:

AI substitution help
Playing a game against the AI run Reds, Drew Stubbs is injured in the top of the 6th inning, and I notice that Eric Chavez is put in as his replacement in CF. Of course, the red light goes off, and I have a closer look and see that both Eric Patterson and Juan Rivera remain on the bench (see below). After completing the game I check the Reds lineup/depth chart v. RHP and see that there is no back up listed for Stubbs at all. Neither Patterson or Rivera is rated at CF, so the AI simply fails to list a backup, and when the need arises, doesn't make the logical choice either. The AI needs to either A) insert the most logical sub for the starter in the Lineup/Depth screen, even if the player isn't rated for that position, or B) have the in-game AI tweaked so that it makes a logical choice for an injury substitution regardless of the Lineup/Depth chart. One or the the other.
Eric Chavez in CF when you've got Patterson and Rivera sitting on the bench is inexcusable. I'd have to call this a bug, and it looks really bad for the game as well. |

I have started 2 Washington Nationals Major League games in the last month. The first one crashed a week ago after being halfway through the 2nd season. The 2nd one crashed today after being in August of the 1st one. I do not know what is causing this as I will load it up after saving it the day before and then if i try to sim a day, it then crashes

lost key, linux mint 13
ever since i installed this game, i've had a problem with the game (for lack of a better term) losing it's key. most times when i load the game, it asks for my key again. at first i re-entered it, but after a while the key stopped working. i then switched to the second key but it stopped working. for a time, i was able to go back and forth between the two, but now neither work. i have been in contact with tech support via email, but communication seems to take some time. they asked me to email them a before/after file to show what's going on. in the meantime, the game constantly asks for registration.
i'm still learning linux, so maybe i have the game installed wrong. however, it plays fine short of the registration. i really don't want to abandon this game, because i do enjoy it. edit: and now it won't even sim past august 1.

I'll briefly reiterate my problem. My universe is fine on December 31. When I move forward to January 1, I am unable to save the game. I seem to be able to play as far forward in time as I want, but when I save, the game crashes with a database error. If the problem doesn't show up to the developer, maybe someone else can move my clock forward a day or two and save it for me. I'd be glad to download such a file and see if I can move forward from there. It seems clear to me that I must have a database corruption problem but the game's behavior has been strange in that the problem seems to only occur after the OSA rescouts all my players on January 1. From that point forward I cannot save the game. As before, I'd appreciate any help you guys acan offer. |

I just saw the announcement of 7/24/12 that entries here will no longer be monitored or tracked. For the record, I have a trouble ticket, I updated it a few minutes ago, but I have never gotten a response to the ticket. The only response I have had is in this thread from pstrickert.

I reopened the bug report, awick. Will it get looked at? Your guess is as good as mine.

I want to thank pstrickert for tracking this problem for two months, endgame for communicating with me directly about resolving it, and Markus for fixing the problem for me. This kind of personal customer support is worth the cost of the game all by itself. Thanks again.

Disable Transactions
Is the Disable Transactions function working? It doesn't seem to be for me. I have my Minor League Promotions/Demotions set so that I'm the only one who can do promotions and demotions. I move a player to the team where I want him, say from an A club to my AA club. I set disable transactions and a little lock appears next to the player in question. However, if I subsequently go to Actions and tell the AI to set my rosters, the player will get moved back to the A club. This seems to be a consistent behavior. In earlier versions, this function worked as I would have expected, namely the locked down player wouldn't be moved unless I specifically moved him.

Schedule loaded from file: not workin :-(
I have always used custom schedules.
My schedule shows up as the one to be used. But when the next season, even though the setup shows my schedule is the one being used, it isn't.

The developer will not fix. It is not worth the time it would require.
