Good Friday OOTP 13 release date causes family misunderstanding

So I'm having big family Sunday dinner with the parents tonight, and my cousin is there and I'm talking to about how OOTP 13 is being released next Friday, which I have off, and I say to him, "So I'm really looking forward to Good Friday this year," just as my uncle the Jesuit walks up. He smiles when he hears it, and says, "And here I thought you'd been drifting away from the Church for years. Will you be fasting?"

"Most likely," I told him, remembering all too many meals skipped in the past right after a new OOTP version came out. And I have drifted away from the Church, and that really hurts him and my mother. He went away delighted, off to find and tell my mother the good news, who was so pleased she left tne kitchen to give me a hug.

So thank you, Markus, for setting up a release date that inadvertently helped me out with my family.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

Not the least bit happy you're wandering away from church...but this is a seriously funny story.

He's not in good shape, and will be having surgery sometime this month.

That's too bad. He is missed around here. Does he still play OOTP?

Yeah, and there's no way that they aren't going to find out. I'm kind of doomed.

We're related. There are six of us related by blood, marriage or adoption who have played the game. Four of us have posted here. Only two of us post here any more.

I'm happy to see you're moving away from the church and even happier to hear of your funny story!

You felt the need to make this its own post? Having it in the other post wasn't good enough?
