Offensive play by play

I'm sure someone just missed this in beta, but I've seen a line of play by play which indicated that a player 'skipped to first base like Richard Simmons at a Ricky Martin concert. Please remove this line, if you please, so I can continue to recommend this game to others.

If your actually serious about this you can remove it yourself. Just simply edit the line in your text file.

Yeah, I don't think that costumers should have to edit the pbp file to remove something like this. This wouldn't fly on any sort of radio or televised MLB broadcast- so why would it be included here? That and it is actually offensive.

Can someone tell me how to open the PBP file and where its located...I have yet to see this...I would have posted it in my Funny PBP Thread.

Find the file folder labeled 'text', open it, then open the 'english' file with word pad. Then do a find using the words Richard Simmons. It'll take you to the line and all you have to do is edit it to something more appropriate. It's a fix for now until the powers that be make an adjustment.

There's alot of stuff in there that you can edit to your liking, for example I edit out any reference to a batting helmet and replace it with something else more appropriate because there are no batting helmets worn in my league.

Obviously it shouldn't be in there in the first place. However, just a suggestion for a quick fix for those that read this and are not aware that they can fix it now without waiting. I edit that kind of stuff out and more, regardless, because it's goofy and has no reference to the timeline of my league.

Great. Make sure you make a copy of your edited one and tuck it away so that if another patch is released you won't lose your changes in an overwrite.

Thanks for posting this and getting it fixed.
Lines like this should not be in the PBP.
I have noticed that OOTP12 has occasionally gotten too cutesy in its language.
I hope the editors will keep a tight rein on the game's PBP and News and keep too much silliness out of the game.

Your post is a profoundly valuable contribution to this thread, since

a) there are oh so many people who find Christmas offensive

b) a baseball sim would be unimaginable without Christmas references, so it would be absurd for someone to suggest they be removed

c) people who love Christmas get beat up or killed on a daily basis, so it makes perfect sense to equate Christmas-hating with homophobia or racism
