This is quite unexpected, but very good news to hear OOTP is expanding. Perhaps if this does well, it could lead to the expansion of a basketball or american football game.

oh this sounds excellent! So i take it when you say "all teams, rules, leagues" editable that means you can create a fictional league like in OOTP?? I hope so because I will definately buy this game!

I'm a die hard hockey fan as well and I think this announcement is great news ! If you need more help for the french translation, don't hesitate to contact me. I am french canadian as well (Quebec City).

My dreams have come true! A OOTP-style hockey sim is all I ever wanted for Christmas. I am offering my assistance in any way possible. I am not a very good programmer, but I have, in the past developed a hockey sim.

Well, you should work on that, because their is a huge potential market for a football game with Front Office Football dead, Pro Football Simulation eh, and Football Mogul horrible.

I concur. I've never played Front Office Football but from what I've seen, it seems dreadful. I own a version of Football Mogul and it is a joke. I'd love to see the OOTP folks make a football game.

But, for now, I'm really excited about this hockey game. Go Caps (5-0 to start the season

Will this be a brand new engine or perhaps the old EHM crew has partnered with OOTPD?

I also have to wonder if any sort of professional league licenses will be acquired.

And where do I sign up for the beta?

I would also very highly suggest that additional translators be found to get the game into Finnish, Swedish and Russian.

Sales of EHM in Scandinavia carried the series for a few years before lack of sales eventually did it in.
I think a English and French only translation would limit sales right from the start. Targeting Scandinavia might be a good idea.
