Very happy to see you guys are going to make a serious effort at resurrecting TBCB. I first really want to commend you guys on moving to a multiplatform approach. I'm a Linux and Mac user so I have to play virtually all my games in a VM.

Second, I really hope you include all of the features in the iPad version- so frustrating to get a castrated game. And please integrate it with Dropbox and/or iCloud. I'd love to be able to use the same db on my pc and ipad...

I am planning on releasing later this year. As has been mentioned above iOOTP/OOTP12 as well as some personal issues have slowed progress more than I had liked. With OOTP12 entering beta testing I will still have some disruption, but hopefully not too much now.

I have passed some initial TBCB screen shots to Aurelio our graphics artist so he can "work his magic" on my rather lame attempt at skinning. Once I have a skin that looks good I will post some screen shots.

Cheers

Paul

When the Game/Sim comes out, I will be the first in line to purchase it. Sometimes the words "Still Working" says more than a full paragraph of excuses, no matter how legit they are. I have faith in the programers and will be waiting.

But first let's get TBCB 2.6 done

damn...but no one's clammering for another update....we want the RP...

I give up. I'll check back in a year. Hoepfully we won't be talking about 2.6 or 2.7 or 2.8 b bla bla.

Is it any wonder why Paul gets discouraged on these forums with posts like this? My understanding is 2.6 will most likely be a bridge from the old platform to the new one. It's PROGRESS! The amount of coding for a project like this for 1 to 2 people (I'm assuming Andreas is working with Paul on this...) is time consuming. We've at least been given some ideas as to what is happening which is a good thing. Be patient!

That being said, I'd love to throw my hat in the ring as someone willing to help with testing when you get to that point. I've beta tested many games over the years, but TBCB is a passion of mine, so I'd be honoured to lend a hand!

Couldn't agree more.

Re-posting for Paul's benefit now that it's a page back:

The majority here are patient and polite. The few who aren't need to be overlooked by you. Just understand what you are dealing with here. This community has been promised a role-playing version of TBCB for litteraly decades. (some recall the toying with a RP version of the board game mentioned in the magazine All Star Replay back in the 80s)

Here is a thread from 5 years ago dealing with this same topic: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...7-28-06-a.html That thread gets testy at points but remember - this was an announcement about a then-long awaited product that had been promised or discussed and pulled previously. Now, five years later, you have to see that it is not unreasonable for a few people to be skeptical or even a little testy. That loyal following 5 years ago had already been thinned by the same sort of inaction that has further thinned the crowd you are seeing here today.

This 'anouncement' is now a year old and people here understandably feel that the same old record is being replayed once again. That is not your fault at all but if you construe the very few frustrated posts that appear here as heckling and decide to stay away as a result I think this will go rather poorly for all involved. This is a niche title, and everyone here gets that. It has a very small but loyal following and an inability to roll with the few frustrations that boil to the surface now and again will simply further reduce the patient and loyal following that it still has.

Adopting a stance of going on radio silence because of taking a frustated post or two personaly may leave us with a group too small to even draw beta testers from once a product is finally ready.

Anybody know why the old version will no longer retain champions? I've had the game for many years and this is definitely a new, and incredibly lame, issue.

I would not want to dazzle you with my inability to create GUI graphics. I have reminded Aurelio, but he has a lot of things to do right now. I hope to have something to show you soon.

I small mile stone has been reached. The game has been built and run inside Microsofts .Net compiler. Up until now I have been developing solely on Linux. I guess the next step it to get MacOS build working!

I had the same problem. So I downloaded the 2.5.2.7 patch again and my champions reappeared.

I've been running the scheduler for several days now and the champions haven't dissappered. If they do I'll post again.

I hope this helps.

Hi Guys,

As you have asked for updates, here goes..

Development is progressing steadily, and I am pleased with the progress. The intresting news is that in the next few weeks I will be flying over to Germany to meet with OOTP Developments. We will be discussing a number of topics, but most importantly Andreas and I have set aside some time to talk about TBCB.

This will be an internal technical meeting so most of the detail wont be posted here, but we should have some news as a result.

I thank you for your continued patience, and look forward to posting more detail after this meeting...

So, we're moving right along then, eh?

Big news any day.......really! Well, maybe not BIG news. Sort of small news.

I hope all you Noobs appreciate the progress being made here. Unfortunately for me, I might not be around to fully grasp the significance once I'm in the Home.

Oh, well. No news is good news.

Cap the (nearly) Eternal Optomitrist.

I'll go with you, Javier! I'll carry the suitcases, and then while they have their meetings you and I can do some bar-hopping. I like German beer...a lot.

If I remember I will take a few... In past years some photos have been posted on the OOTP forums. So there may be some on there too.

You are really looking for pictures of the meeting? How about pictures from a screen? I'm with Cap. I appreciate that there is some movement and work going on, but I'm 57. I won't even ask for a ballpark on when and if there might be an actual game. I have really given up, so if and when, I guess will be a nice surprise.
