Happened to my 11 imported league. I figured it was just cosmetic and shrugged my shoulders.

I would have done so as well, except I had deleted my imported league and when I did the import again to have bad dat files to upload, the error would not replicate! Go figure.

I will try again tonight. I'm not crazy, but I may have been wrong about my Lord of the Rings comment in another thread; I remember two regions that were being erroneously picked up, Neamt and Ryazan, (i.e., "Baltimore, Neamt") and these are actual places in Eastern Europe, I just found out.

By the way, I uploaded my league files in response to the trouble ticket I submitted on game crashes when creating international free agents (LSJ-749908), but they also apply to this wrong country problem.

it may have replicated, but you just have not seen it yet. i had the state problem, reimported and played a while before i noticed canada, dominican republic, cuba, etc were still messed up.

You know, you may be right. I think I remember reading here that the problem occurs/recurs upon one or more of three things: 1) the time of "year"; that is, regular season, offseason, preseason, of the game prior to import; 2) advancing the date after import; and 3) ending and restarting the game. Some combination of those, perhaps. Gosh, I'm glad I'm not a programmer!

Plus every import has different states/countries that get messed up. Exact same OOTP 11 league, without simming ahead or anything produces different results. Very strange.

Sometimes it's hard to notice the bug unless you get a bunch of US states messed up. I'd notice all my US states were fine, thinking my import had finally worked, but some other country would be messed up.

for me yes. installed OOTP12, imported my 11 league right away. it's the only league actually in saved games for me.

If you submit a ticket and leagues on this issue, be sure to mention that the import can look perfect until you reload it after a save.

Yes, happens if you do the import from the startup screen right after loading the game.

Good point. It always looks fine after the import. It's the next time you load up the league it looks bad.

it was not fixed in my existing game, i do not know if it was fixed for importing though.

it's not always US and Canada affected, these are just easier to find. In my current league all states in Italy are messed up so it's not always easy to find the error.
Maybe that is holding back the fix

I saw there was a fix for the world xml thing, so I was hoping that had something to do with fixing this issue. But it sounds like no one really knows what that fix was for.
