I played about a month so far and I mine as well delete that to start on the new updates. Thanks for letting me know about those two issues. Howard was absolutely crushing the ball in the first month (which he never does!), .385, 10, 31 in April (Lost Hitter of the Month to Prince Fielder). Cliff Lee was struggling all month.

God I love this game!

Looks great!

Anyone else having an issue with players designated for assignment not being able to be moved to any rosters? An information box pops up that simply says "Information."

EDIT: Figured it out, never mind haha

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

I have only taken a cursory glance at this new set, and Jose Reyes on the Mets is still off contract-wise. IRL his contract expires after 2011, in the roster set he's signed through 2013.

Is this the 'patch' mentioned? My startup now says 12.0.1 but I don't know if that's the original...

The work looks great, and now I don't crash when staff are searched. On the other hand, the "quit" option now causes a crash. Not a heartbreaker, but I'm in the habit of quit to save, so I need to remember to save, quit, and then close the crash window.

Using the Windows version.

Overall great work - want to make clear this isn't a complaint and I've no regrets about buying it, again!

Put him on the roster team Markus. You can never have enough eyes for detail.

Personally, I remember when people were happy to just have a 25 man roster filled.

Not an official "patch". 12.0.1 is what my version is, and I didn't download anything extra

I don't think so, the new file should just replace the old one.

I have already started an MLB quickstart and I am doing very well. If I download this will it delete the game I have going on now?

If the answer to this is no, will this download change anything in my quickstart? If so what? I want the bugs fixed, but at this point I already fixed all of the contract and roster data that I care about.

I would be happy to lend a hand with the rosters sets, too, Markus. PM me and let me know what I would need to do.

Thanks,

Stacy

I believe it wouldn't hurt a thing since you already have saved the quickstart as a new .lg file.

Although, since you are happy with your league as it is now, you wouldn't notice any changes because you would have to start a new league to see them.

I updated mine just in case I wanted to start a new MLB game at some point.

A couple minor roster issues on the Tigers:

-Casper Wells is number 57, not 22 as in the game.
-Daniel Schlereth is number 55, not 32 as in the game.
-Chance Ruffin was not on the 40 man roster on opening day, Clete Thomas was assigned to Toledo on opening day, and Edwin Gonzalez was on the 40 man and 25 man rosters in their place. Also, Edwin Gonzalez wore number 21.

Hate to be a buzzkill, but my issue with the roster remains the same as with the initial roster that shipped monday:

A huge number of players HASNT BEEN TOUCHED SINCE OOTP11!!!!

Which is unacceptable, really.

Open your OOTP11 game, start a quickstart game, turn scouting off, and then do the same thing with OOTP12. Look at the ratings of guys like:

Rich Harden
Scott Kazmir
Brandon Webb
David Price
....
and many more

and you'll see at first glance those players haven't been touched in over a year. Now, I dont care if some crap career-AA player hasn't had his ratings adjusted in a while, but Harden ranks as a #1 pitcher, Webb is the #12 SP in the game, Kazmir is still a #3, and Price is a 25-year old #5 starter who is too old to ever reach his potential. Having those (and dozens of other IMPORTANT players) blatantly misrated remains a big problem, and will inevitably lead to a lot of moaning in online league play (and solo leagues for the guys that dont know how to use the player editor, or consider it too much work).

Consider this practical example: a guy has signed up for the Rays in an OOTP12 online league, and he's excited that he has top prospects like Hellickson and Jennings or Archer on top of a top-10 pitcher in this league in Price, paired with 10 Draft choices in the first 60 picks in the 2011 Draft.

Problem is, Price is only a #5, and based on his advanced age and huge difference between current and potential ratings, will NEVER reach his full potential. Jennings' current ratings are so low that he has to go to AA at age 24 (translation: he has almost zero chance to pan out, and won't reach the majors before 2013 at the earliest). The 10 Draft choices really are just 2.

His initial excitement vanishes in a relatively short time, and so will his hunger for OOTP12 online play, naturally.

Sure, the die-hards will always find a way to circumvent this (via some third-person roster mod), but I can still see a lot of ppl turned off because frankly, the rosters are still not remotely close to accurate, even on a 'macro'-level (read: when taking into account just the important, franchise-altering players).

I hope that it'll get fixed soon, because other than that, the game looks pretty darn good.

There is a thread devoted to correcting these issues: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...er-thread.html .

Perhaps you could help by submitting specifics on which players are incorrect (please read/search the thread first to make sure your effort isn't being duplicated), it would be a huge help to the coding staff.

There's some new stuff coming out today which should correct some of the problems, and I'm sure there will be more corrections in future patches.
