American League Picks Top Performer: Veteran Brian Roberts had a great week at the plate for the Orioles to capture the majority of votes for Player of the Week in the American League.

The 33-year-old Baltimore second baseman built a .500 average on the strength of 17 hits in 34 at-bats, 3 home runs and 8 RBIs.

For the year Roberts is batting .292 with 4 home runs.

LaRoche Picked NL Player of the Week: At the age of 31, Adam LaRoche might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Arizona first baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .429 batting average. For his efforts LaRoche collected the National League Player of the Week Award.

He racked up 12 hits in 28 at-bats, 5 home runs and 14 RBIs last week in 7 games.

Presently LaRoche is batting .316 with 36 hits and 11 home runs. He has knocked in 31 runs and scored 20 times.
